Cover Reveal for Sweet on You

I’m so excited to reveal the cover of my final Bradford Sisters novel!

Britt Bradford, the youngest Bradford daughter, is Sweet on You’s heroine.  Britt’s very good friend, Zander Ford, is the novel’s hero.  Those of you who’ve read my Porter family series may remember that I’ve written one other friends-fall-in-love romance.  In A Love Like Ours, Lyndie James is reunited with her childhood best friend, Jake Porter.  In that case, however, Lyndie and Jake hadn’t seen each other for twenty years.

In Britt and Zander’s case, the two have been close friends as adults for a long, long time.  Let me tell you, that dynamic was new and different for me!  I loved writing this novel but I also found it to be a creative challenge.  Britt and Zander are extremely close.  They have a fantastic friendship.  They like and respect each other tremendously.

What’s challenging about that, you ask?  Well, the bread and butter of the romance novel is conflict.  Without romantic conflict — reasons why the couple can’t fall in love — you’d have a five page long story.  So I had to dig down to discover Britt and Zander’s internal conflicts, their flaws, and their fears.  It turned out that Zander had plenty of reasons not to confess his love to the spunky brunette chocolatier.  And Britt had plenty of reasons not to allow herself to fall in love with the brilliant, intense man with the ocean blue eyes.

I’ve completed revisions on Sweet on You and, at this point, will only read the book two more times in manuscript form to conduct edits!

Here’s a peek at Sweet on You’s back cover blurb:

Britt Bradford and Zander Ford have been the best of friends since they met thirteen years ago. Unbeknown to Britt, Zander has been in love with her for just as long.

When Zander’s uncle dies of mysterious causes, he returns to Merryweather, Washington, to investigate, and Britt is immediately there to help. Although this throws them into close proximity, both understand that an attempt at romance could jeopardize their once-in-a-lifetime friendship. But while Britt is determined to resist any change in their relationship, Zander finds it increasingly difficult to keep his feelings hidden.

As they work together to uncover his uncle’s tangled past, will the truth of what lies between them also, finally, come to light?

    • ‘Britt’s eye reach out and grab you as if to say, “come read my story.”’ Yes! You’ve hit on one of the aspects of Sweet on You’s cover that I find the most compelling — the fact that she’s gazing straight out from the photo. I think that gives this image extra punch.

    • Emilee, I’m looking forward to seeing all three books side by side! Eventually, Because of You (my novella in The Christmas Heirloom collection) will have its own Bradford-Sisters-Esque cover, too. Then I’ll have FIVE pretty covers all in the same style to admire!

    • LOL! It’s always a little bittersweet to read the final book in a series, isn’t it? I feel it, too! It’s bittersweet to complete the final book in a series. Satisfying! Because the Lord enabled me to complete my vision. But a little sad, too, when the time comes to say goodbye.

      • I have one sister reading True to You (she told me she didn’t text yesterday because she was reading so I’ll take that – we normally text each day…) and am delivering another copy to the other sister this weekend. And then I’m taking a copy to a friend next Tuesday when I meet up with her for dinner… At least I am able to visit the sisters through updates from them! (this is where I pretend I don’t listen to Jora regularly on audible LOL)

    • Thanks for stopping by, Rissi! You’ve mentioned one of the things I think the art department has done beautifully. They’ve carefully considered the information I provided not just on each sister’s appearance, but on each sister’s personality, and relationship. They’ve really tried to capture both the tangibles and the intangibles in each book’s cover.
