Inspired by Life ... and Fiction

Novelists bound by the pen, sisterhood, & more

August 25, 2016 By Cara Putman

ACFW 2016This week is ACFW’s national conference in Nashville. I arrived Tuesday for board meetings yesterday, and then the fun started. So today I wanted to share some photos with you of before the conference began. As an avid reader, it’s easy to go all fan girl with my writing buds. They are sooooo talented. There are approximately 600 people attending, so if you like a Christian fiction author many are here. I hope you enjoy seeing these photos. Which authors would you love to meet?

#ACFW2016 is happening now and @cara_putman shares photos of her favorite #chrisfic authors.

Betsy St. Amant, Jim Rubart and me… If you haven’t read their books, you really should give them a try. Two of my favorite people.

The amazing Becky Yauger and me — I love her heart.

Fellow Inspired by Life and Fiction author Becky Wade and then two of my Grove Girls Sarah Ladd and Kristy Cambron joined Elizabeth Musser and me for a photo. Love these gals and their amazing hearts and stories.

Then it was time for supper! Sarah Ladd, Kristy Cambron, Becky Wade and I headed out for a great meal in downtown Nashville. I loved hearing their hearts and writing journeys.

Lynette Eason writes great romantic suspense. Her books go on my keeper shelf.

Sarah Ella’s debut YA just released — I am hearing AMAZING things!

The amazing Carrie Stuart Parks and Robin Caroll. Both write great suspense. Truly great authors.

Emilie Hendryx is an author — but she also makes me look beautiful with her amazing headshots.

With the wonderful Beth Vogt, a fellow Grove Girl and great contemporary romance writer.

Thanks for sharing those photos, Cara. I couldn’t attend ACFW this year, but it’s great to get a glimpse of some who could. Have a great time. Blessings to all of you!

I met many of my favorite authors yesterday at the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat – Becky Wade, Julie Lessman, Laura Frantz, Mary Connealy, Kate Breslin and Dani Pettrey. To say I went all “fan girl” is a gross understatement. I’m sure these ladies ears are still ringing this morning after all the squealing I did when I saw them. They may also some bruising from my aggressive hugging. My face still has a permanent smile on it. The icing on top of the cake of my day??? Tamara Leigh and Rel Mollet (from Relz Reviewz) walking in at the end of the day. Best. Day. EVER!

Cara, what a lovely thing to do; taking time out of your busy schedule to think of the fans and writers who are not able to attend. I love posts like this. I’m keeping the Twitter page with #ACFW2016 and Instagram with the same hashtag open in tabs on my computer screen. I frequently will refresh them to see updates of with new photographs from the various attendees.

I would love to meet you and Becky Wade. Others would be Vannetta Chapman , Beverly Lewis, Leslie Gould and Robin Lee Hatcher. I had the privilege to meet Wanda Brunstetter in 2014 when I attended her fan filled weekend in Sugar Creek Ohio. Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. There are so many writers that I have yet to become acquainted with through their books.
