Voices that resonate

February 1, 2022 By Tamera Alexander

In a world of voices demanding to be heard, here are three that I count as huge blessings in my life, that really resonate.

1

Paige Brown’s the Study of 1 Samuel (aka: It’s the heart, Stupid!)

If you’ve not taken one of Paige’s studies before, get ready to be blown away by God’s Word and the breadth and depth of his love and compassion for you.

Livestream every Wednesday. Just jump in and hold on! God is on the move!

2

Kristi McLelland‘s New Podcast PEARLS

Kristi continually teaches me that God is better than I ever knew, and teaches me how to read the Bible through a middle eastern lens

3

Lisa Harper’s BACK PORCH THEOLOGY New Podcast

Lisa keeps me in stitches as she shares real life and real struggles, all packaged in vivacious Southern grace and beauty

Have you listened to any of these yet? Do you have voices in your life that resonate with you? That draw you closer to Christ?

I’ve got room on my podcast list, so please share!

Happy Tuesday!
Tammy

Words Matter: Prayers from a Writer’s Heart

Robin Lee Hatcher shares her heart in this slim volume of prayers. The book got its start in 2009 when she was asked to post prayers in an authors’ email group. These are prayers for anyone who loves Jesus and wants to serve Him. They are prayers that Robin needed to say for herself as well as for others. Above all, they are prayers from her heart, and perhaps they will reveal a little of who she is to those who read them.

Finally, if you haven’t seen Redeeming Love in theaters, please do! I’ve seen it twice and can’t wait to go back again. I posted my thoughts when the movie first released, but here are friend and author Tricia Goyer’s responses to this fabulous movie.

    Hi, Tamara,
My Bible Study group has been doing Nancy Guthrie’s books on seeing Jesus in the OT. She has a five books series going through the whole OT. These are the best Bible study books I have ever read/studied. I don’t know if she has a podcast, but my go-to is her daily devotional Discovering Jesus In The Old Testament. Amazing book! If you’ve never read her books, please do. They are amazing!

Thank you, Kathy! I just grabbed Discovering Jesus in the OT. I cannot get enough of seeing Jesus throughout the entire Bible and of eating and feasting upon God’s Word. So appreciate you recommending her books.

Thank you, Tammy, for these resources. I’m looking forward to exploring them when caring for my husband eases up. Right now, I’m not able to watch or listen to anything because I’m right with him all the time. I am reading the book of Acts and focusing on the spread of the early church.

Please pray that the resources I’m exploring for my husband will be resolved as God wishes and has planned.

Bless you, Betty. I think of you so often and pray for you and your dear husband the same. May God give you strength and fortitude as you walk through this difficult season, and wisdom and discernment too as you explore resources for his care. So much to sift through and weigh. Lord, give Betty insight beyond her own and lead her with your loving hand. Fill her with your strength, Father. Ours is so anemic and fleeting. Holy Spirit, comfort and reassure as only you can. Love you, Betty!

Thank you so much, Tammy! Just what I needed!

Those look great! I just discovered Karen Prior Swallow’s Jane and Jesus. She had a PhD in English lit and loves Jesus and finding the intersection between the two. Fascinating stuff!
