My fifth and final Chicory Inn novel is out and launched and I’m just a little sad to say goodbye to the Whitman family and the Chicory Inn. I’d like to give the Chicory Inn Novels series a last hurrah here on the blog by giving away an entire set of the books to one of our lovely readers.
I’ll leave you with a “family reunion” photo of the Whitman family as I envisioned them when I wrote them. (If you haven’t read the books yet, keep in mind that there will be a few spoilers if you study the photos too carefully!)
For more images of my characters, setting, and some of the other inspiration for the novels, visit my Chicory Inn Pinterest board.
To enter the drawing for a complete set of the 5 Chicory Inn novels, simply reply in the comments with which book was your favorite, or if you haven’t read the series yet, which of the five books appeals most to you and why. (You can “judge a book by its cover,” or you can CLICK HERE to read each book’s synopsis—and purchase if you like!) I’ll name a winner in the comments tomorrow night.
Thank you for being such faithful readers!

I have read the first four and definitely enjoyed them. Close To Home has been my favorite I think. It was a fine line that Bree walked being part of the family but not at the same time. I look forward to reading the conclusion!
Brooke says
I have not read any but all the covers look amazing! I especially like two roads home, it draws you in and sets up a story line for two people that have wondered down different roads but still found a way back home together. The center tree symbolizes unity for me. Can’t wait to read them and see if I’m close!
Katie Edgar says
I have not read any of these yet, but they are on my TBR list! I want to read the first one the most for a few reasons. First, because it starts out the series and because I like that cover the most, and starting an inn sounds so fun, it seems like a great kick-off to an inn series!
Ellen Barta says
Home at Last was a favorite, would love a SET!
Deanne Patterson says
I have not read this series yet. So many of my Goodreads friends have talked about this series and said how much they’ve loved it. This sounds like such a fun series. I enjoy reading series about inns. I would love to start with the first book and read the whole series. I must read a series in order is why I want to start with the first book. Thank you for the fun giveaway opportunity.
Joan says
I haven’t read this series but sure would like to. My favorite of yours is INSIGHT, which I absolutely LOVED. It was a wonderful book and I couldn’t put it down! I sure would love to have a set of these Chicory Inn books!
Stephanie H. says
Even though I haven’t read this series yet, I look forward to reading them soon. Close To Home reminds me of how I’m living pretty ‘close’ to where I grew up and it feels like home.
Mary Hart says
I haven’t read any of this series yet, but would love to. I will pick Home to Chicory Lane since it is the first -and I love the cover.
Linda Horin says
Although I’ve read quite a few of your books and enjoyed them immensely, I have yet to tackle this series. It is definitely on my “to read” list. I would have to say I am most attracted to “Hone to Chicory Lane” because I want to start at the beginning.
Melanie Backus says
Although all have beautiful covers, I am going with Home to Chicory Lane. What a great set of books! Keeping my fingers crossed!
Betty Strohecker says
I have not read any, but it sounds like a great series. I always like to read series in order. And your cast is definitely a plus!
You are a new author to me, just since I started reading this blog (because of Julie Klassen). I read A Janary Bride, and loved Maddie and Arthur’s story, especially the way you got them together through their notes.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Becky Wade says
Congrats on completing a FIVE book series, Deb! What an outstanding accomplishment. There’s such satisfaction that comes from finishing a big project, isn’t there? What will you be tackling next?
Deborah Raney says
Thanks, Becky! I’m finishing a novella this week that I can’t wait to share about! After that, I’ll be working on a new full-length, title yet to be determined, but it’s set in Madison County, Iowa.
Terressa T. says
Wow. Every description sounds slightly more “intense” than the first. But having not read any of the books I would naturally want to start at the beginning.
Bonnie Moore says
I haven’t read the series yet. The cover of your first book appeals to me because the setting looks so tranquil and peaceful. I would like to spend a week end there! Would love to win the set of books! Thanks for the giveaway!
Beth Gillihan says
I haven’t read this series yet, but I love the second cover! Makes me want to sit in one of those chairs with some iced tea and a book.

Haley says
Books four and five’s covers I like the best!
I haven’t read any of these books but they look great! 😉
Jeanne Doyon says
Deb, I haven’t read this series yet but what a great teaser. I am drawn to the photos most of all, particularly the twins. I have twin girls and there is something winsome about entering their world. I would have to start at the beginning of the series because I don’t want to miss a thing!! Also, I grew up in a town called, Whitman. So that is enticing too. It all evokes memories.
Linda D. McFarland says
I haven’t read this series but all the covers look yummy! I would say Home to Chicory Lane since it’s the first and that’s a good place to start. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Cele LeBlanc says
I love your cast of characters! I havent read this series yet. I want to start with the first one and live a while with the whole family.

Cheryl H. says
Home to Chicory Lane appeals to me most. I love the cover, and i like reading series from the very beginning. 🙂
Nancy Griggs says
I haven’t read any of the Chicory Lane books but would like to read all of them. I can’t just pick one. I would start at the beginning. I’ll try to get one a month and read them all. They really interest me.
Shelia Hall says
Home to Chicory Lane is my favorite
Donna Ratliff says
Love them all, and know the last will be great, as well. Sad to see it come to an end. The characters become part of us. They really do. Silly maybe, but sometimes when not reading about them, I wonder how they are. Delighted to see the pictures. Thank you, faithful writer. I always know when I have one of your books in hand, the story will not be disappointing, but instead a blessing.
Pam Jenness says
I’ve not read this series but it sounds wonderful. The cover of Close to Home appeals to me the most. Beckoning porch lights are always a draw! I’ve just recently read the Clayburn novels, and enjoyed those, so it would be a pure delight to read these as well!
Jen says
I have not read them so the beginning looks like the most interesting one to me. Thanks for thinking of such a great give away!
Karen says
I have yet to read any of them yet, the covers all appeal greatly to me but I like the second book “Two Roads Home” the best. I just love the big tree and the two chairs facing it, I would love to sit in one of them sipping iced tea and reading a book, I can feel the heat of summer on me as I lose myself in the story….I know if you wrote them they are good!
Christina R says
I have never read any of the series, but I always like to start at the beginning
Gail Hollingsworth says
How generous of you to offer the full set! I thank you for the chance to read them all. Two Roads Home sounds interesting. No lives are perfect and I think some fiction always tends to give the easy life example rather than real life as we know it.
I’m taking care of my 82 yr old mother right now in my home (she broke her hip and had to have replacement surgery). We both love to read and I share my books with her.
Heidi Robbins says
I haven’t read this series but have heard great things about it from reviews on book blogs I follow. Thanks so much for the generous giveaway!
Mary B. says
Home to Chicory Lane appeals to me.
That is the first one in the series and I am kind of strange like that. I have to have or start with the first one and go from there.
Charolette Romero says
I haven’t read the series yet but I would love to
Barbara H. says
Oooh, how exciting! I’ve read the first two and am looking forward to reading the rest. Of the two I’ve read, I think I liked Two Roads Home best. I enjoyed looking at the inspiration photos!

Bobbi says
Two Roads Home — I would like to sit in one of those chairs & read!
Winnie Thomas says
I haven’t read any of these books yet, but they look and sound fabulous. The covers are pretty and welcoming. I love the house on the cover of Close to Home. It looks very inviting.
Cheryl Kasper says
I like all the covers so I wouldn’t be able to choose that way. I enjoy reading a family series. You learn so much and can relate in many ways to your own family and what you may have gone through or someone else you know. I would choose the first book as I would want to catch everything from the beginning as you meant it in writing it. I haven’t read any. Thank you.
Elizabeth says
I haven’t read any yet, but book 4 looks the most interesting to me and will be going on my TBR list!
Lucy Reynolds says
I haven’t read but would love to and I would then share with my dear mama. Blessings!
Sonnetta Jones says
I would love to read Close to Home and Home At Last. The effects of war is devastating and I am always curious about the widows of war and if they remarry. Home At Last because there are not a lot of interracial romances in fiction. I would love to see how you use the issues they will have to deal with and how God applies,
Susan Heim says
I haven’t read this series yet, but they all sound wonderful, so I would start with “Home to Chicory Lane” and read all the books through until the end!
Andrea B. Brooks says
I do not remember if I have read any of these book yet. The book that appeals to me the most is “Two Roads Home.”
Ola Norman says
I like the title and cover Home At Last but I’d like to start reading with the first one. I haven’t had a chance to read them yet.
Jennifer :) says
Chose only 1 favorite?! Oh my…That’s a challenge. At first, I would say book 3, “Another Way Home” because of her issue of infertility. But after reading all five, book 5 “Home at Last”is my new favorite. I love the new characters, scenery, drama/action (I don’t want to say too much and give it away)… although I am sad that the series is finished.Thank you for writing such wonderful stories!
Lisa Cullett says
If I were to start reading a series, I would want to start with the first one, in this case “Home to Chicory Lane”. Thank you for the opportunity to win the series. If I win, I’ll be sure to share these books with friends.
Esther Barragan says
I’m going to ‘judge a book by the cover’ because I haven’t read any of these books. I’m going to choose Home At Last because the cover is so beautiful. The night sky filled with stars is beautiful…
Quanny Ard says
Hi Deb!
I haven’t read any of the books, but I’d love to!!! Of course I am a sucker for the resolution or ending of a well written series. I always want to know how everything turns out in the end! Hope I win! 😘
Amanda G. says
Book 4 in the series sounds the most interesting to me. I’d like to know what happens to Tim’s widow.
My sister became a military widow in 1996, before my nieces 1st birthday. She has never remarried and still enjoys a close relationship with his family after all these years.

Close to Home

I have not read the series yet, but I love this cover.

Congratulations on completing the series, Deb – I can imagine the bitter sweetness of such a moment. Love the family tree photographs – such a clever idea, it totally helps us ‘see’ the family and those connections. Looking forward to reading ‘Home at Last’ soon, and hearing more about your novella.
Beth Nagy says
I have not read this series, but have been tempted by the titles. I would start at the beginning with “Home to Chicory Lane”.
Linda Moffitt says
I Have not read any of them yet. The one that appeals to me most is Book #1 Home to Chicory Lane . I like to start series on the 1st book and read them in order. Unless of course The Author tells us a different order to read them in. Thanks so much for the chance to win. This would an AWESOME 🙂 Prize to win. This whole series looks GREAT!!
Deb Provvidenti says
I have not read the series yet, but the book that appeals to me is Home to Chicory Lane. I always try to start a series with the first book so that I am not “clueless” about who the characters are, what has or hasn’t happened and where the series takes place. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway. This would be a Great Prize to win! (Just in time for spring break.)
Deborah Raney says

I can’t wait to read your final book in the Chicory Hills series.

I better quit while I’m ahead. Oops again! So sorry.
