We talk a lot about book launches here, but this past Saturday, I got to celebrate a launch of a different kind. My youngest kiddo graduated from college!
We had lots of family on hand to help celebrate the occasion, and as you can see from the photos, we enjoy having fun together. Peter chose his dad to be his escort, so that is why my husband in robed in white. (In case you were wondering. ) Peter’s fiance and her family came too, which was lovely.
One of the fun places where we took pictures was at what I call the Peter Rock. Since ACU is a Christian university, there are scripture references around campus, which I love. When we made Peter’s high school senior pictures, we did a few in the stone garden that included a reference to 1 Peter 1:3-4. I told him he was my first Peter, so we had to do it.
Now that we are closing the circle with his graduation we returned to the Peter Rock with the entire family.
My prayer is that his faith will be built on the true Rock and will serve as a guiding force in his life as he steps into the world of adulthood.
What fun family times are you anticipating during the holidays?

Aww, that’s a wonderful rite of passage (for him AND for is parents). Our youngest graduated college in December also (about 12 years ago and it poured rain in Missouri and we almost got flooded in at my other daughter’s house in the country!) Loved seeing all your photos and how much fun your family has together. Merry Christmas to all of you!

Thanks, Deb. Getting the family together is special, no matter the occasion. It’s hard to believe that my youngest is now a full-fledged adult. Where does the time go?

Our Christmas is going to be a quiet celebration but being with family will be a blessing.
I believe that all of us want a firm foundation for our children and grandchildren. Congratulations to Peter!

Amen, Connie! That faithful foundation is the most important gift we can give our children and grandchildren.

It’s going to feel very strange not having any kids on campus to drop by my office while I’m at work now. A little sad . . . but thrilling to see what the future holds!

What a wonderful milestone! All three kids through college. Congrats to him AND you!

Congrats! I know the feeling of the “baby” graduating college. Kinda bittersweet!
Our fun family holiday plans: We’ve rented an Airbnb in Branson, Missouri, for two nights. The kiddos said they don’t really need lots of “stuff” for Christmas, they’d like “experiences.” So we plan to spend Christmas day together just chilling at the Airbnb with lots of food, games, fun, laughter, & a few gifts. (I had to do stockings… I love stocking stuffers!!) 😉 I’m taking your Guess the Christmas Carol game & another Name that Christmas Song game where you have to guess the song by looking at the first few music notes of that song.
The day after Christmas, we’re planning to go to a Boardgame Cafe where you pay $5 per person to play games however long you want… they have hundreds of games to choose from!! Then we might catch a big flea market before we head home. I’m praying we all feel well!
Merry Christmas to you & yours! May God bless you in the New Year!

That sounds like a wonderful holiday, Lori! That Boardgame Cafe sounds super fun! We play a lot of board games around the house during the holiday, too. There are always new ones under the tree to try in addition to family favorites. 🙂
