Our granddaughter turned two this weekend and since her favorite thing right now is “Pink Mickey” (aka: Minnie Mouse), we had a Twodoodles Pink Mickey Party!

Of course, I made a Minnie Mouse cake—with a HUGE shout out to Holly on Etsy for making the fondant Minnie on the front so I didn’t have to. Mine would likely not have been recognizable and definitely not as cute. Plus she saved me hours of work. It came perfectly shipped and on time.

And this one after the bday girl got a hold of Pink Mickey. And no, she didn’t eat it all. Ick.

What joy grandchildren are, as is spending time with family. Especially when my latest book is done and I’m waiting on galleys. More on that soon along with the cover reveal. Release date is September 1st!
Today is Tuesday, a Gram Tam Day, so Papa Joe and I are off to the races!
What’s the last cake you made? And are you a fan of fondant making? I’ve made it many times but this weekend I graciously allowed Holly to step into that role (LOL). If someone were to make you your FAVORITE CAKE, what would that be?
Hugs from Nashville,
Tammy

How fun! Your cake looks great! Our youngest granddaughter (4) is on her second Minnie Mouse phase!
It was such fun. And yep, Minnie is quite the star these days.
Happy 2nd birthday to your granddaughter!! He birthday cake is FABULOUS. 🙂
Thanks, my friend. Grands are such a blessing. We’re soaking up this season—and it’s moving fast!Excited about your Zoom!
Such an adorable granddaughter and a very cute cake!
I can’t wait to read your new book! I just wrote Sept 1st on my calendar.
Have a great time with the grands today!
Aw, Jennifer, you made my day. Thank you and blessings on your day.
What a wonderful cake! And your granddaughter, and grandson, are adorable. Grandkids are the best! I’ve made several cakes for my kids and grandkids over the years, although I’m certainly not gifted in that area. The hardest one I made was a two-tier Moana cake with a waterfall flowing down the front. The Pinterest photo looked WAY better than mine, but my granddaughter loved it, and that was good enough for me!
Congratulations on your upcoming release! I look forward to hearing more about it. 🙂
Deena, a Moana cake sounds challenging! But I bet she did love it. And isn’t it sweet to view it through their eyes? They don’t see all of the imperfections. Only the joy! And the sugar. LOL thanks for sharing.
Yes, anything through their eyes brings even greater joy! And I love the sugar too – a bit too much! LOL
What a cute cake! And Happy Birthday to your granddaughter. I have never made anything out of fondant, but my daughter-in-law is an expert and always makes fantastic cakes for my granddaughter, who is 18. Two of my favorite cakes were the Wizard of Oz cake and a unicorn cake.
The last cake I made was for my son’s birthday. When he was about six he declared he didn’t like the typical bakery birthday cake with the sugary white butter cream icing. Ever since then I have made him a chocolate cake with chocolate icing, and he is now 59. My favorite cake is a white cake with caramel frosting.
I have joined the Christian Fiction Reading Challenge and am reading Becky’s book now.
Oh Betty, your fav cake sounds delicious! And very unique. Your son’s fav is definitely one of mine. I would LOVE to see pics of that Wizard of Oz and unicorn cake! I think a cake decorating class needs to be in my future. GREAT on joining us for the reading challenge. I think it’s going to be a fun year together.
That cake is impressive even if you didn’t make the Pink Mickey (love that! Haha!) yourself. The rest of it is darling. Which makes it perfectly fitting for that darling little girl!
Thanks, friend. I love making them. But what I really want to learn to make is…your bread!! But first…to get a mill. 👀🙂
