Robin W. Pearson’s writing sprouts from her belief in Jesus Christ, her Southern upbringing, and her love of her husband, seven children, and their dog, Oscar. She has corrected grammar up and down the East Coast as an editor, writer, and homeschooling mama. While sitting in her grandmothers’ kitchens, she learned how to make corn bread taste like pound cake and the all-purpose uses of Vaseline. Her family’s faith and life lessons inspired her to write about the love of Jesus and how His love affects all our relationships.
Robin’s novels are “rooted in the soul of the story” and include her Christy Award–winning debut, A Long Time Comin’, as well as ’Til I Want No More, Walking in Tall Weeds, Dysfunction Junction, and her latest, The Stories We Carry. Publishers Weekly has described her work as “enjoyable and uncomfortable, but also funny and persistent in the way that only family can be…” and said her “excellent characters and plotting capture the complexity and beauty of family, the difficulty of rectifying mistakes, and the healing that comes from honesty.”
At the heart of it all abides her love of God and for her peeps. That’s what she writes about on her blog, where she shares her adventures in faith, family, and fiction. It’s the source and subject of her novels, in the new characters living and breathing in her laptop, and in the stories about her experiences at her own kitchen sink. When she’s not tapping away on her laptop, you’ll find her settled on her North Carolina sofa in her pajamas and orange beanie, reading literary fiction and munching buttered popcorn.
