Am I Procrastinating?

I confess that I love toying with cover design. It’s so much fun. I often can’t accomplish what I want, but every so often I can.
Sometimes writing is fun. It’s fun when all the words flow. Or when that idea I’ve needed so desperately suddenly flashes to life in my head. It’s fun when I type the words, The End.
But a lot of the time, writing is more about just showing up and being faithful, moving the fingers on the keyboard or talking the story into an app on a phone (I don’t dictate but many authors do). Sometimes the words come hard, one word after another ripped from the brain. Okay, that sounds a bit dramatic, but it can feel like that.
So it is nice to have fun.
And fun is what I had when I decided to put Speak to Me of Love back into Kindle Unlimited. Since I am moving it out of other platforms and into Kindle exclusively, it seemed a good time to repackage the book. I love the new cover and book description.

Some hearts hide in darkness until love dares to enter.
When Shakespearean actress Faith Butler is stranded in a fading Wyoming town, she faces an impossible choice. Her young daughter is too ill to continue traveling with the theater troupe that has been their only home, and without work, Faith has no way to care for her children. Her only opportunity lies at the isolated Jagged R Ranch, where the reclusive owner is rumored to be as dangerous as he is mysterious.
Scarred by tragedy and determined to keep the world at a distance, Drake Rutledge has built a life behind shuttered windows and guarded walls. Hiring a fiery-haired actress and providing a home for her and her two children is the last thing he wants. Yet Faith’s courage and unwavering devotion begin to chip away at the bitterness he has carried for years.
As friendship blossoms into something neither of them expected, long-buried secrets and painful memories threaten the fragile hope growing between them. And when the past returns with the power to destroy everything they’ve found, Faith and Drake must decide whether fear will rule their future—or whether God’s redeeming love is strong enough to heal even the deepest wounds.
Let me know what you think of the new cover. And do you like it when books you’ve read already get a new look?

I do like the new cover!
What did it look like originally?
It’s been repackaged more than once through the years. The first was more caricature. The next two were photographs, one in a period dress and the others in costume. But this is my favorite.
What a great cover! Beautiful design and colors. It fits the description of the story very well.
Thanks, Carrie.
Lovely cover–and sounds like a great story! You are talented in so many ways, Robin!
