Ken and I are traveling for the month of October and discovered our campground for tonight in Vermont doesn’t have phone service or wifi, so we drove into a little town in search of wifi and now I’m posting quickly before we need to get back to our campground. We never like to arrive after dark, so this will be quick!
We left a week ago Sunday and in the 7 days we’ve been traveling, we have seen so much of God’s incredible creation! Here are just a few of the most stunning views we’ve seen, most of them in state parks, which we love. (If you’d like to see more photos, I’d love to have you follow me on our Raney Day Trippin Instagram account.)
HOCKING HILLS STATE PARK, OHIO

FOUR MILE CREEK STATE PARK, NEW YORK
on Lake Ontario near Niagara Falls, NY

NIAGARA FALLS STATE PARK, NEW YORK and CANADA
We added a new country to our passports, walking across the Rainbow Bridge
to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls!

WATKINS GLEN STATE PARK, NEW YORK

VERMONT
We also added a new state to our list of states we’ve visited and wow! did Vermont show off for us!

What is the most beautiful place you’ve ever visited? I’d love to know so maybe we can add some new destinations to our next trip!

Beautiful photography, Ken.
You can give Ken the credit because he taught me everything I know about photography, but I took all those pictures except the first one of me on the bridge! 🙂
What a beautiful time of year to visit that area of the country (and Canada)! Enjoy the autumn wonders!
Thanks, D’Ann. We are soaking it all in!
Hi Deb, I love following along on your adventures. I think Colorado is probably the most beautiful state I’ve been to but those parks in NY and Vermont sure are gorgeous. God has such limitless creativity and how wonderful it is that He chose to make our world so beautiful for us. What a gift!
You are so right, Kelly! How blessed are we to serve a God like that?!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! We honeymooned in Niagara Falls, Canadian side, in 1966, just before my husband went to Vietnam.
As an East Coaster, we’ve been from Florida to Maine and into Canada several times. Vermont is beautiful. Can’t pick a most beautiful place at the moment, but were so sold on Maine after our first trip there that we returned a number of times, making Bar Harbor a frequent destination. Our first trip to Maine was at the end of a New England trip, and we only made it to southern Maine. We stayed in the town of Ogunquit, which means “beautiful place by the sea” in the Abenaki Native American language, and it is.
Happy trippin’ for the rest of October.
We can’t wait to experience Maine, Betty! I love that name and its meaning! Sounds perfect!
Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton National Parks are among my favorites, having visited more than once, but we really enjoyed a trip combining Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia in CA. We always tried to include various state parks and historical sites in the regions.
Those are all on Ken’s bucket list, Catherine! And all places we’ve never been yet.
Never mind who the photographer is – you both take the most beautiful snaps and these are wonderful, Deb! So glad to hear you’re having a fun trip…and sharing with us!
Thanks, Lynne. We are having a blast!
What gorgeous pictures! So happy for you guys—and wish we could blink and be there to join y’all on a bike ride!
Oh, so do I! You and Joe would love this!
Your pictures are lovely. I have been to Vermont in the fall and loved it. But for me, nothing surpasses the beauty of Glacier National Park and the Flathead Lake region on Northwest Montana.
Oh, Erin, those are on our bucket list big-time! We don’t have it scheduled yet, but I can’t wait.
