An Inspiring Giveaway

August 7, 2018 By Tamera Alexander

Hey friends!

Do you have a favorite “go to” devotional?

I love brief devotionals that I can reach out for during the day for encouragement and inspiration. And I’m giving away an annual subscription for a great one on my website this one—The Word For You Today by Bob Gass Ministries.

A friend gave me a subscription to this years ago, and I’ve enjoyed it ever since.

Enter to WIN

So tell me… what’s one of your favorite devotionals?

There are so many great ones—Steams in the Desert, Jesus Calling, My Utmost for His Highest...

Eager to hear from you!

Tamera

My husband got me started on the MacArthur Daily Bible years ago. Every day there is something fresh and new for me to read and apply to my life

As far as literal devotional books, A Year With Aslan would probably be my favorite. But there are a lot of non-devotion-specific books I use in the same way; Wild Goose Chase and Chase The Lion (Mark Batterson), Death By Living (N.D. Wilson), A Hobbit Devotional (Ed Strauss), Epic (John Eldridge)…

We have used a little booklet named Today for years. Each month has a different writer and theme. Some months deal with a book in the Bible book and some deal with a subject.

I’ve read Guideposts’ Daily Devotions for years. I’ve tried a few others, but Guideposts’ is still my favorite.

thank you for sharing this. I enjoy devotionals. They fill in when I do not have a regular bible study going on. the one i really enjoy is Jesus Today by Sarah Young

My favorite daily devotional is pray-as-you-go.org for several reasons:
    – it’s audio so I can listen while I put on makeup, etc.
    – it includes beautiful music from various periods of history and from around the world
    – it includes thought-provoking statements and questions that allow me to ponder the scripture rather than telling me how it should be interpreted
    – it’s recorded in England so the accents are fabulous!
    – it’s accessible via my smartphone so I can listen wherever I am.

Yes! “My Utmost for His Highest” is such a wonderful book! I love it too. Also among my favourites are the books of 19th century South African pastor and missionary Andrew Murray. “Humility,” “Absolute Surrender,” and “The Spiritual Life.” Murray’s writings and inspirations are challenging, enlightening, and biblically sound. Anyone familiar with Andrew Murray’s writings?

Any of the Jesus Calling devotionals! I personally read from Jesus Calling and Jesus Always everyday. This is about my 3rd year of going through Jesus Calling and I just received Jesus Always last Christmas but I anticipate using it every day as well for years to come!
