A week from today, I will be leaving on a book-signing and speaking tour in the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. Believe me, I know how blessed I am to have this opportunity, especially after already visiting Germany earlier this year! Many people have told me how much they enjoyed traveling with me the first time so I’ve decided to invite you all to come along with me this time, too.
I will be posting photos on Facebook and Instagram (@Lynnaustinbooks #lynnaustin) and on this blog. You can expect a few of the usual tourist pictures, but I also hope to post some of the fun and unusual things I see and experience.
When I return, I want to give away some souvenirs from those three countries to thank you for traveling with me. I’ll pick out something special from each place and add a copy of my novel “Where We Belong” to each package.
The two main characters, Rebecca and Flora Hawes, loved to travel even though they lived in the Victorian era when women weren’t allowed to travel the world unescorted. When you read their story, it will take you on another adventure.
If you’d like a chance to win one of these souvenir packages, you need to do three things.
- Please stop by my website, www.lynnaustin.org and sign up for my newsletter.
- Follow or like me on Facebook.
- If you have Instagram, follow me here also.
If you’re already on my newsletter list then you’re already entered! (Sorry, but postage costs limit me to US addresses only.)
If you think of me, please pray for safety while traveling, and for rest and strength and good health for me and all those traveling with me. And especially pray for God’s blessing on the speaking opportunities He’s given me. These include bookstores, ladies’ breakfasts, churches, and a Christian book festival. It’s an opportunity and responsibility that I don’t take lightly!
In Marburg, Germany I’ll be celebrating the 100th anniversary of my German publishing company, Francke, which has been doing an excellent job of providing quality Christian books since 1918. Congratulations to them! I am honored to partner with you.
So, what’s on your travel “bucket list?” Where would you most like to go if you had the chance?

Hi, Lynn, I read that you will be traveling to Marburg, Germany. I was there visiting relatives in 1990. It is a beautiful city and be sure to visit the museum there. It’s wonderful! God bless you as you speak and safe travels on your tour!
Lynn Austin says
You’re right! Marburg is beautiful. I love the castle onthe hill. Thanks for your prayers, Kathy.

There are so many places on my travel bucket list! My husband and I want to visit Alaska, hopefully a combination cruise and land trip. I would love to go to Israel, Ireland and Italy…not all at once, of course. And there are so many places in the US we haven’t seen yet! I hope I live long enough to fit it all in!
Lynn Austin says
Alaska sounds like fun, Linda. And all those “I” countries too. I hope you get to see them someday.

We’re taking our kids to London and Paris in a few weeks to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! I visited both places when I was a child, but haven’t been back since, so those two are right at the top of my bucket list.
Lynn Austin says
That will be so much fun, Becky. Your kids will have memories for a lifetime.

I’d love to visit the countries where you are going! I love Europe and the history and cool old stuff. I’ve been to France, England, and Germany, but not long enough in either place. Safe and happy travels! Blessings!

HI, Lynn. Have a wonderful time! And of course safe travels, that the Lord protects you from any adverse things. Being born in the Netherlands, I know you’ll love it a lot. So many cute areas and the people are friendly, tall (LOL), and speak English for the most part. I pray that you’ll feel right at home in Holland!
Lynn Austin says
Thanks, Hilda. I love your country. And the (tall) people always make me feel at home.

Lynn, I’m almost as excited to “tag along” with you on your trip as if I really were going! I’m all signed up to follow you and praying you have a wonderful trip and a great time.
At the top of my bucket list is a trip to York, England where my great-great grandparents lived before crossing the ocean to America. Their home is still standing and several of my relatives have visited there and had their picture taken in front of the house. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to go, but it would be a dream come true if I did!
Lynn Austin says
Thanks for your prayers, Deb. I hope you get to York someday. I visited the tiny German village where my ancestors came from and it was an amazing experience.

I’ll be so happy if I’ll be able to see you in Marburg, but I am afraid that my wish won’t be fulfil.
I live in the Czech Republic but Marburg is still too far.
I wish you happy and blessed experiences.
Lynn Austin says
I would love to meet you too, Blanka. Someday!!

My bucket list is kind of small. I’m a homebody. But, I would love to visit Ireland and Scotland.
Lynn Austin says
It’s fun t travel but always good to be home. I hope you get to Ireland someday.
Suzanne Sellner says
I’m returning to the Czech Republic this summer to teach/work at a family camp to improve one’s English skills and learn more about the Lord. I’ve requested a tour of the Terezin concentration camp since so many of the books I love to read are about Europeans during WWII. The church we’re helping with this camp is amazing, and I love the dear people we’ve met.
My other passion in travel is to go to French speaking areas since I majored in French in college and my Ancestry DNA report says I’m 45% French. We’ve been to France multiple times, and this summer we’re traveling to Quebec in Canada.
If I had unlimited funds and time, I would also like to travel to Scandinavia as well.
Lynn Austin says
I hope you have a great time with your summer travels, Suzanne. And I hope you do everything on your bucket list too!
