And the Two Shall Become One

April 13, 2016 By Robin Lee Hatcher

Last weekend, my oldest granddaughter got married. We had incredible weather. 82 degrees and sunny on the 9th of April in southwest Idaho. Amazing. And perfect because the bride and her attendants arrived in a horse drawn wagon and the couple departed in the same. The ceremony and reception took place in a barn that is used for community events, which meant no heating or air conditioning. It was too warm for me to wear the jacket I’d planned to wear, but that was a small thing and otherwise the temperature was ideal.

In case you didn’t know it, we are a horsey, western family, so the theme of the wedding should not surprise you. Boots and saddles and the bride’s favorite sunflowers.

Anyway, like any self-respecting grandma, I’m going to subject you to photos. Just ooh and ahh appropriately. At the end, I’m sharing my Bible art journaling that was inspired by the wedding and the happiness of all of the couples in my family.

No wonder I love to write romance novels.

P.S.  And now it is time to finish writing my next book.

Oh Robin…..LOVED these photos!! Yes, the bride looked beautiful and everything looked perfect (even the horse was gorgeous!). 🙂 I also loved the color of the bridesmaids’ dresses and those SUNFLOWERS!! (My favorite flower!!) 🙂
The photo of the bride and groom peeking around the tree could be the cover for a romance novel – – so precious. (You did an AWESOME job with the photos, by the way! You are a lady of many talents!)
And I have to share that seeing these photos really made me smile, because summer before last my best friend’s son got married, and the wedding was SO similar to your granddaughter’s and very special. 🙂 Bride and attendants arrived in the horse-drawn wagon, the wedding was in a barn (used for special events), everyone wore boots, AND the bride chose sunflowers!
I’m so thankful everything went well. Thank you for sharing with us – – I’m still smiling! 🙂
    Hugs, Patti Jo

Thanks, Patti Jo. And if I was getting married today, I would wear boots under my wedding dress. I just love the look. Both of the mothers of bride and groom wore cowboy boots with their dresses, and they looked so fabulous.

Beautiful family & bride. I love the picture of your daughter & grandaughter. The best of all is of the couple looking around the tree. Thanks for sharing your photos of such a happy time.
