Hello, everyone. I’m home from more travels and ready to get back into writing. But first, I picked a winner from my last blog where I asked how all of you unwind after a big project. I truly enjoyed hearing all of your answers and your suggestions. It was tough to pick just one person to receive a copy of my June release, Lakeside Sweetheart. But I picked Diana (who is going to a June writing conference to pitch an idea for her own story). Diana, you can e-mail me through my website at www.lenoraworth.com and give me your mailing information! Thanks to everyone for the chat. I’m glad you all have special things to do when you’re relaxing 🙂
But it’s back to work, at least partially, for me. I have a book in an upcoming 2017 LIS continuity and the characters are begging me to get it started. It’s another K-9 story but this time with FBI agents. I’m always amazed at these hero dogs. While I’ve been on a staycation of sorts, I’ve been reading the book “Soldier Dogs” (The Untold Story of America’s Canine Heroes) by Maria Goodavage. This book was a NY Times bestseller and I can see why. It’s riveting and informative. My daughter loaned it to me so I’m using it for research since it explains the training and backgrounds of all kind of K9 officer dogs.
I hope to get knee-deep into this suspense that will tie up five other books by Terri Reed, Laura Scott, Val Hansen, Lynette Eason, and Shirlee McCoy. Good company!
I’m also happy to announce that I’m part of a Christmas anthology that will be out this coming October from Gilead Publishing. Along with Sandie Bricker, Barbara Scott and Lynette Sowell, I’ll have a story in Sleigh Bells Ring, a contemporary four book novella set in bluegrass country in Kentucky. I have the last story, titled “Please Come Home for Christmas.” I’m excited about this new adventure and I adore the three authors involved. What a blessing. I don’t have a cover yet but we are all waiting to see what Gilead comes up with!
Meantime, I attended another reader luncheon to conclude my year of the reader! This one was with the Heart of Dixie Chapter of RWA, located in beautiful Huntsville, Alabama. My table people were delightful and we had a great time listening to the inspiring Kristan Higgins, even though the fire alarm went off and we had to exit the building at high noon in high heels! We didn’t sweat, however. We glistened. Then we went back in and finished things up with a great book signing. (Here are some of my table mates!)
Summer is here and it’s time for me to get a little work done. I hope you all have a great summer. Enjoy God’s wonderful world and send me pictures!
