Unexpected Discoveries and a Huge Romance Giveaway

April 20, 2017 By Karen Witemeyer

April has been a busy month for me as far as travel goes. In fact, today I'll be in airports and cars most of the day traveling to a writers' retreat, so please forgive me if I am delayed responding to comments. I thought I'd share some of my experiences from the quaint town of Mason, TX. I was invited to come speak at a library event back on April 8, and I had a lovely time. Got to see some … [Read more...]

Movies With A Surprise Spiritual Impact

April 6, 2017 By Karen Witemeyer

I love a good movie. I'm too cheap to pay full price to see them in theaters most of the time (especially with 3 kids), but I pile new releases up in my Netflix queue as fast as the trailers release. And while it is easy to get discouraged by the increase in language, crudity, violence, and skin in movies today, that dark background makes the good ones shine all the brighter. Why I Love Spring

March 16, 2017 By Karen Witemeyer

Spring is by far my favorite time of year. Grass starts to green, wildflowers bloom, trees bud. My knowledge base is extremely limited to start with and with my consuming schedule of writing, working, and … [Read more...]

Sing Me a Song, Cowboy

March 2, 2017 By Karen Witemeyer

There are few things that get my heart to pitter-pattering more than a deep-voiced cowboy. Sam Elliott, anyone? That man's voice epitomizes the rugged west for me. Every time I hear his commercials, I want to get up and buy a Dodge Ram. And I don't even like pickup trucks! But even better than the rasp of Sam Elliot is a deep singing voice. That's probably why I married my very own bass-singin' … [Read more...]

When The Heart Dreams

February 16, 2017 By Karen Witemeyer

This past weekend, I was honored to participate in a romance readers & writers event in Charlotte, NC called When the Heart Dreams. Games, activities, workshops, and books abounded. It was a great time. I actually shared headline space with New York Times Bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries! How cool is that? Most of the dozen or so authors in attendance write general market romance, so I did … [Read more...]
