A Visit to my Publisher

October 6, 2016 By Karen Witemeyer

Last week, I had the opportunity to visit Bloomington, MN and the home of Bethany House Publishing. I had only visited once before, back in 2009, right after I signed my first publishing contract. In January. With snow piled higher than I was tall along the sides of the roads. This time, the sun was shining and temps were in the mid-sixties. It was a glorious visit. And not just because of the … [Read more...]

True Love = Waterfalls

September 15, 2016 By Karen Witemeyer

With classes coming soon, I was reminded of an email I received a while back from a student who was working on a research paper about teacher certification exams. In her online exploration, she ran across a blog post I … [Read more...]

My First Chick is Leaving the Nest

August 4, 2016 By Karen Witemeyer

It's a mother's duty - train up a child in the way she should go so she can one day soar through life on her own. And while I can't wait to see what joys and triumphs the future holds for my first little chick, my heart is aching at the thought of letting her go. Next Friday, my oldest child, my only daughter, will leave home and move into her freshman dorm room at Abilene Christian University. … [Read more...]
