The Husband Maneuver

May 19, 2016 By Karen Witemeyer

Earlier this month, my Dead-Eye Dan novella, The Husband Maneuver, released as an e-single. I've written four novellas to date (one yet to be released), and I think Dan and Marietta's story is my favorite. I just had far too much fun writing the dime novel scenes. For those of you who might not have read A Worthy Pursuit, the novel that introduced Dan and Marietta as secondary characters, … [Read more...]

Help Me Pick My Website Photo

May 5, 2016 By Karen Witemeyer

Two weeks ago, my daughter and I had photo sessions with a lovely lady from our church who does photography on the side of her regular teaching gig. My banker heroine, Emma Shaw, was raised by suffragette aunts to believe that women could accomplish anything men could as long as they worked together. She believed this truth in theory, but grew discouraged when few people saw fit to let the equality play out in real life. So created her own haven of independence. … [Read more...]

St. Patrick – A man who loved his enemies

March 17, 2016 By Karen Witemeyer

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Most of the time, when people think of March 17, they think about leprechauns, pots of gold, and wearing green to avoid getting pinched. But the origins of this holiday are much more spiritual in nature. And I researched those origins, I found myself awed by the ministry of the man who became a legend. At the end of the 4th century, Maewyn Succat was born to … [Read more...]
