Do You Like a Challenge?

January 18, 2024 By Karen Witemeyer

With the cold front that has swept the country this week, I'm feeling a strong desire to shirk all responsiblities and curl up in a cozy nook with a warm beverage and a good book. I haven't given into said urge . . . yet . . . I'm still going to the day job and pounding out words on the computer at home. However, I keep my Kindle and tea mug close at hand in case I can sneak in 20-30 minutes of … [Read more...]

Happy New Year = Deadline Met!

January 4, 2024 By Karen Witemeyer

Are you a list maker? I am. I love the satisfaction of checking things off of my to-do list. So I had a special thrill this week by being able to check off a big item from my 2024 list. Usually it was nothing more than a picture that I revealed, but there was joy in the anticipation of discovery. Much like opening the cover of a new book to discover the story waiting inside. When my kids were young, we had a wooden advent calendar with little … [Read more...]

Fall = Cozy Reading (& Goodies!)

November 16, 2023 By Karen Witemeyer

I love fall. The heat of summer finally fades, leaving a crispness in the air that makes me long to curl up in a fuzzy blanket with a warm beverage and a good book. Since I love hot tea (especially the bookish variety) and shortbread cookies, I thought I'd help kick off fall with a bookish giveaway perfect for a quiet evening spent in a cozy chair with your favorite novel in hand. I drink … [Read more...]
