The Simplicity of the Trinity

March 20, 2023 By Angela Hunt

My friend Ron, who departed for heaven a few years ago, once told me that before he accepted Christ, he found the concept of the Trinity nearly impossible to accept. “How can one God be three persons?” he said. “I’m Jewish, and every observant Jew is taught to daily recite the Shema: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one’” (Deut. 6:4).  For thousands of years, the Jews dwelled … [Read more...]

Ask Dr. Angie

March 6, 2023 By Angela Hunt

I love theology. Years ago, when I was writing a book with a theological theme, I realized that I had better get it right--wouldn't want to have to explain to the Lord how I figured it out all by myself and gave people the WRONG answer. So I went back to school. Got a master's in theology, then completed two doctorates--one in theology proper, and another in biblical studies. I certainly don't … [Read more...]

The Food Forest, part 2

February 20, 2023 By Angela Hunt

The "food forest" is in a hiatus--the clean up is done (and the jungle now looks amazing, with new mulched paths running through it), but I'm waiting on the garden design and then the installation of some more plants. We have lived in our current house five years. The front yard is like a jungle, with a couple of "paths" carved through it, and it contains special places--a secret swing, a secret garden, a secret playhouse, a place to sit and think (several of those, actually), and lots of unexpected plants. But in the summer, when the rains come, I have these vines and weeds that grow--well, like vines and … [Read more...]

What You Can’t See . . . Matters

January 16, 2023 By Angela Hunt

Two weeks before Christmas, the water meter reader left a note on my gate--"Meter is moving at 12:00 p.m.," it said. Apparently the meter reader is a man of few words, but I grasped his meaning--at a time when a house should be relatively free of running water, mine wasn't. So I went out to the street to look at the meter, and saw that the man was right--the little triangular symbol that … [Read more...]
