My new book, Sweet on You, released this past Tuesday! I’ve been so excited for you to have a chance to read this friends-who-fall-in-love story. Today, I have the pleasure of bringing you behind the scenes photos from Sweet on You’s cover shoot!
The cover shoot took place back in mid-August. My editor, Raela Schoenherr, was kind enough to snap these photos for us so that we could get a peek into the cover creation process.

The finished cover!

Every book is a long-term labor of love. I work on each one for about a year, but numerous other people play important roles in bringing my books to publication. My agent, Linda Kruger, is my first reader. A team of editors give me important feedback and also fix grammar and correct my mistakes. The sales team sells the book into bookstores. The design team crafts a cover. The marketing team launches the book.
Sweet on You is the result of the efforts and experience, commitment and belief of many. I’m very grateful for the talented people I partner with on my novels. And I’m very grateful for my readers! Thank you!
Before I go, I wanted to let you know that I’ll be hosting a chat party on my Facebook page this coming Tuesday evening. I’ll kick things off with with a Facebook Live video, ask questions via posts, answer your questions, and hand out lots of prizes. Please join me!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the cover shoot photos!

I just inhaled Sweet on You and I need to go back for seconds! 😊 It was the perfect love story for Britt and Zander and a wonderful conclusion to the Bradford Sisters’ stories. It’s hard to pick a favorite because they each are unique but I think Zander and his patient love captured me the most. Thank you for creating these beloved chanatcrers!
Thank you, Jen! Your description of Zander’s love as “patient” is spot on. That’s the aspect of him that won my heart, too. 🙂
“Inhaled” – yes, that is the word!!
Great post! Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure!
Beautiful cover! It’s so light and fresh! The photographer and designers made an awesome job!
Yes! You’re right. The cover really does give off a “light and fresh” impression. Perfect for spring time!
Such a great cover, Becky! I just listened to the audio sample and put Sweet on You on my wish list. I’m looking forward to listening. The narrator sounds great!
That’s good to hear! It’s the same narrator that did True to You and Falling for You and lots of readers have told me that they’ve enjoyed her style.
I really like the picture where she is full-on smiling with teeth…such a beauty. It’s always so fun to get a peek behind the curtain of book cover making. Such a talented team at Bethany House – including a florist? 😉 Thanks for sharing.
She really is a beauty!
The woman who created the bouquet works more in the sales/marketing side — but clearly has flower arranging skills, too. 🙂
These cover posts are always a favorite! The Bradford Sisters Covers are all wonderful. I’m excited for Britt to join her sisters on my bookshelf, but I’m going to leave her on the coffee table a little bit longer!!!
I relate! Britt will join the others soon. But for now, she still has a prominent place on top a piece of furniture here at my house.
I always love these posts! It’s so neat to see what the cover model’s dress looks like from the front. I love those sparkly, embellished straps! Oh, and I adored Sweet on You! So hard to pick favorites, but I think it just might be my favorite of the series! 😍
I’m delighted to hear that you enjoyed Sweet on You! Thank you, Caitlyn! And yes, it’s great to get a peek at the front of the dress, since it’s not visible on the cover.
Love seeing your cover model posts! So interesting!
Thanks, Becky!
I love these BTS posts, Becky ❤
I love them, too! I’m so pleased that many of you feel the very same way.
Fascinating! It is so fun to see behind the scenes as we have no idea what goes into producing your amazing covers!
I find it fascinating, too! I love getting a glimpse into the steps involved.
The process is fascinating; the photos are fantastic!
I’m delighted with the photo they eventually chose for the cover. I especially love the way she’s looking directly out at the reader. It’s engaging!
I’m glad that you do interview your models. It’s a lot of fun to find out what happens during the cover shoot. I also enjoyed the interview with Abby.
It was a treat to get to learn more about her! I’m grateful to her for taking the time to graciously answer my questions. 🙂
I absolutely adore the covers of this series. Bethany House has done such a great job with them. Thanks for the fun look behind the scenes.
I really adore these covers, too. I’m thrilled with the way the cover concept carried through across all three sisters and all three books.
Love the cover–and so looking forward to this book! 🙂
This is beyond neat. Neato Frito! It was kind of awing to see so many involved in the publication of one book. Congrats on another book published. I’ve just started your first book, and plan to read them all.
I love these behind the scenes on the covers. Thanks for the photos.
I love behind the scenes looks and covers are always a favorite. Thanks for sharing and I will be adding this to my list to get!
Wow! I had no idea how much work a cover shoot could be. Impressed.
All your covers are so fantastic! Since you started giving us a “back stage pass” to them, I have realized how much work they are! Thanks so much!
Fabulous covers on all the books in this series!
