Last week, Indiana got enough snow that Purdue closed for a day. That may not seem significant, but I’ve lived near Purdue for twenty years, and this is only the third day that I remember the campus being closed. Needless to say, I was grateful to not do a snow dance to campus in my car, and it allowed me a bit of time to read.
I adore reading. Y’all know that, and one of the books I read was Kristi Ann Hunter’s next Regency novel. It was soooo good. How good you ask? Good enough that I am literally binging her books in order. I’m on the sixth since Saturday, and yes, I’ve still worked and all the other things.

Hence the above quote. Reading really is like breathing for me.

I’m also always amazed about what reading reveals about me. Anyone else relate? You read about a character’s struggle, and suddenly, you have insight into something you’ve struggled with?

There’s no other way that I could travel to Regency England, or really anywhere else (thanks, COVID!) right now, so books are a wonderful way to see and experience other places.

Is there a series that you’ve binged lately?

I just got the third book in Colleen Coble’s Pelican Harbor series so I’m fixin’ to binge read the whole series! If there’s been one good thing about this pandemic, it’s that I’ve read a lot more books this past year than before!
That was such a good conclusion to the series!
The most recent binge reading for me was re-reading the Love Comes Softly series by Janette Oke. Hubby’s Mom had read her set so much it was falling apart. We bought her new set and since it would be awhile before we were able to see her to take it to her, I read the set again finishing just in time for our trip up.
I loved that series, Kay. It would be a fun one to binge.
I binge read Julie Klassen’s Ivy Hill series and highly recommend it.
Oh, Good idea!
I read and loved Elizabeth Camden’s Empire State series – first books I’ve read by her. There are several series that I’m trying to keep current with that are ongoing, one up to book #24. Going to read my first one by Kristi Ann soon.
I think you will love Kristi Ann Hunter’s books, Betty. It’s been fun to go read them in a quick sprint after having to wait for the next to release.
Love your quotes, Cara! This probably doesn’t qualify as a true binge, but I’m reading my second Mimi Matthews book this month. With as little reading as I have time for, that’s about as binge-y as I get these days. 🙂 And I have Kristi’s latest on my TBR pile. Looking forward to that one, too.
I read my first couple of hers last month. Fun! Random side fact, I just reorganized my bookshelves so I didn’t have your books on four different shelves in four different rooms!Love yours!
Too funny!
I just finished Jenny B. Jones Sugar Creek Christmas series. Even though Christmas has past, the snowy weather last week was the perfect setting to delve into them. They are hysterically funny, heart tugging and the romance is enough to keep anyone warm even on the coldest day.
Jenny B. Jones is a favorite of mine, Amy. She is such a wonderful comedic writer — but there’s also such depth to her books.
I wouldn’t classify myself as a binge reader but I do like to read series. It’s just always hard to wait for the next in the series.
Yes! I love a good series, too. I think that’s what’s made this binge so fun. I’ve read them all before, but the waiting in between left me going, I kind of remember these characters….
Dee Henderson’s O’Malley series
Yes! I’ve reread those so many times and can’t give them away.
I love her books! Looking forward to reading her new series. My last truly binge read was Rebecca Connolly’s London League series–regency spies! At that point there were 5 books and I just kept buying the reading the next one. (Too easy to do when only $2 or $3 each. Less than a cup of my favorite coffee!)
Anne, I need to try hers. I really enjoy Regency time period. Thanks for the recommendation!
Jessica Dotta’s Prince of Privilege Trilogy – REALLY good!
That was a good one!
Colleen Coble’s Pelican Harbor series. I can’t wait to get #3!
I have actually been barely reading lately, it has been hard to read for me the past year. Not so surprising but I’ve never had a reading slump before, lol.
Shenandoah Sisters by Michael Phillips
Not lately as I’m caring for my mama.
I haven’t read any series books lately — I usually pick standalones. Happy for you that you had a snow day! Those are the best.
I don’t do series. I read whatever is around that looks good.
Most recently, I binge-read Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse series because I heard it was going to be a Netflix series.
Yes! Susan May Warren’s Montana Rescue series–I am now on Book 5 in a series of 6. I read them in order as much as possible–I didn’t have #2 so I ordered it from the public library–and now I’m back on track. The more I read, the more I want to read. I know the series will end–but what a great team of Search and Rescue people live in these novels!
I’ve been binge reading The Midnight Doms series which is a multi-author series. It’s been good so far.
Binge reading is the best way to read a series. Currently binge reading the Carolina Coast series by T.I. Lowe.
I just started the Hope Harbor series by Irene Hannon.
