I sent readers on a “blind date with a book” via a post at this time last year. I had so much fun that I’m back with another round! The general idea…. A library wraps books in paper and writes clues about the contents of the books on the front. You go on a blind date with a book by picking one, unwrapping it, taking it home with you, and reading it. 🙂
Below, I’ve virtually “wrapped” eight books. Unlike in real life, you’re more than welcome to open them all!
Unwrap this book!
Unwrap this book!
Unwrap this book!
Unwrap this book!
Unwrap this book!
Unwrap this book!
Unwrap this book!
Unwrap this book!
Which book did you choose to go on a date with first? Did I introduce you to any new books or authors?

This is such a fun idea, Becky! I love the wide variety of genres and styles represented. And I’m pretty sure I recognized one description in particular. 😉 I bet there will be lots of successful blind dates with these options. If only the percentages were as high in real life. 🙂
Becky Wade says
LOL! Yes. In real life blind dates I feel the percentage of success is far lower.

I selected #1–which I have already read. I haven’t read any of the others, but they all sounded like books I would enjoy reading–especially Memory Lane and My Phony Valentine.
My local library did this in February, and I selected 3 different books–none of by authors I had read before. I found a new favorite author!

I love hearing that you found a new favorite author through your library offering “blind date with a book”, Martha! If you have a chance to read Memory Lane, I truly hope that you enjoy it. 🙂

I started opening with the first one in line, and I correctly guessed Memory Lane. Should have picked up on the last one, too.
Becky Wade says
Yes! For you avid readers, it’s fun to guess the book based on the clues. 🙂

We have your books in the Lakes Church Library in Lakeland, FL.
I volunteer in the library and have for 44 years.
I’ve been meaning to do this, but time & life get in the way.
Where did you find the brown paper covers for the books?
I thought about using gift wrap that you can get at the dollar
stores.
Thanks for the reminder.
Becky Wade says
I think the patrons of your church library would love the idea of a “blind date with a book”! And yes, the gift wrap from the dollar store would work perfectly for this.

I picked Memory Lane, which is in my Kindle and my next on my TBR list. 🙂 Better get started!

Hooray! I truly hope that you enjoy Memory Lane, Gena. Thanks for reading it!

I’m reading both of these books Memory Lane (physical book) and My Phoney Valentine (Kindle) currently. I also have Dani Pettrey ‘s series on my Kindle. I would love to make enough time to just curl up with some good take out and a glass of wine and enjoy reading with no interruptions!! Thanks Becky for writing such incredible books.
Becky Wade says
Thank you for reading them, Brooke! I so appreciate your encouragement!

Becky, I love the “blind date with a book” idea. My library has made displays with this idea. So fun!
I chose the time-slip novel. I so enjoyed Ashley Clark’s Heirloom series.

Thanks for visiting the blog, Caryl!

I’ve only read one of these books so they’ve all just joined by TBR pile!
