What a trip! It was so surreal to be touring Germany with Ken. I often had to keep pinching myself to see if I was dreaming. We saw miles and miles of this beautiful country and had the opportunity to meet some of the most warm and inviting people I've ever met. Would you pull up a chair and allow me to share my trip pictures with you? I took my latest two characters, Rebecca and Flora … [Read more...]

I recently explained the inspiration behind my newest YA book here. Let me just summarize by saying readers were asking for another story and I answered the call! The End
On Monday of this week, I typed THE END on the book that will be my 79th release (releasing early 2019). I immediately began what I call my "read and polish" stage. This is my last attempt before sending it to my editor to get rid of typos and about a thousand justs as well as to catch any glaring errors. In Julie's blog post on Tuesday, Write, Read, Revise, Repeat, she shared her process … [Read more...]
Write, Read, Revise, Repeat…
I wish I wrote perfect first drafts ready for proofreading, but I don’t. (Nor do the vast majority of authors I know.) I rely on feedback from early readers and my editors, and continue to revise and edit a manuscript until it is as strong as I can make it—or until my deadline arrives, whichever comes first. :) Currently, I am busy working on revisions for my next book due out in December, … [Read more...]

I set out to select covers from a range of sub genres and publishers, since it's exciting to celebrate the breadth and depth of the … [Read more...]
A Life Well Lived
Yesterday the world lost a man who symbolized faith to so many. My mom was saved at a Billy Graham crusade in the 60s. The trajectory of my life was changed by that decision and the later commitment my father made to faith. [Tweet "Billy Graham lived life well. @Cara_Putman shares at Inspired by Life & Fiction. #giveaway"] Billy Graham was a man who could interact with Presidents … [Read more...]
