A California Christmas
Happy new year, all! Are you back in the swing of your usual weekly routine after Christmas? My three kids returned to school on Wednesday so I'm back in the thick of it. Except (shh) I still haven't yet taken down the holiday decorations... The good about our usual weekly routine: quiet hours in which to work. The bad: very early mornings and having to badger my kids into doing their … [Read more...]
What I Did For Christmas Vacation
My favorite Christmas vacations are the ones where I don't have to travel . . . much. Days spent in pajamas. Playing board games with the family. Piecing together a puzzle. Watching movies and TV shows that have piled up on the TiVo because we don't have time to watch them during our normal routine. Cross-stitching. Reading Christmas novellas. Love it! This Christmas certainly qualifies. My … [Read more...]
New Year, New Post!
I got in on the first try! Yay, me!!! Of course, our dear Robin Lee Hatcher gave me a big hint on how to do that. Saved and noted! Happy 2016. Hard to believe it's already five days into the new year. I am fast approaching my first deadline of the year. On January 15th, I have to turn in the fourth book of my Men of Millbrook Lake series for Love Inspired. It's been a fun series since I wanted … [Read more...]

As 2016 begins, I'm celebrating the New Year, yet also deeply mourning the loss—albeit, a temporary one, due to our steadfast hope in Christ—of this beautiful woman… Judy McMahan, such a dear … [Read more...]
King Hezekiah’s Seal
It’s been in the news but you may have missed it during the busy Christmas season. Archaeologists digging near Jerusalem’s Temple Mount have found a stamped clay seal that once belonged to the biblical King Hezekiah. As my readers know, I “wrote the book” on King Hezekiah—three books, in fact, and two more on his son King Manasseh. I used stories from the Old Testament along with my own research … [Read more...]

Different
The young man who stood alone on the pier, gazing out at Lake Michigan was different from me in many ways—his age, his ethnicity, and his style of clothing, to name a few. But like me, he obviously had come to the beach on this warm, fall afternoon to enjoy the gorgeous day and picturesque view. Because I’m a shy, quiet person, it never occurred to me to speak with him. But my girlfriend Cathy is … [Read more...]
