I admit it. I’m one of those wives who drops very unsubtle hints about what I would like for Christmas. In fact, this year, I created a wishlist on Amazon and sent that to my hubby in November. Now, my hubby is a bit of a procrastinator, and since I’m the only one with a Prime account, most of the shipping dates for those items are now coming in past Christmas. So that means I’ll get fun surprise gifts. Which, I actually really like. Unwrapping gifts just isn’t as fun if you know what all the gifts are.
Being a book nerd, this year I had several book-related items (that weren’t actually books) on my Christmas list. Here’s a few:
I love wearing scarves in winter, and this book scarf would be a great addition to my collection. And what better accessory to go with this new scarf than these cute library earrings?
And how about these fun book socks? These are one pair of knee highs I would wear with pride. They even have my glasses and tea at the bottom.
Then I found this puzzle when I was walking through our local Books-A-Million. I immediately snapped a photo and sent the hint to my hubby. Our family puts together a puzzle every year at Christmas, and this one just made my book-loving soul sing.
This one isn’t directly book related, but I love deck-building games, and all the ones we play as a family are fantasy-related (one based on The Hobbit, others based on typical dragon/monster slaying themes, one featuring Marvel’s Avengers). So, I thought it only fair to add one to our collection that fit the western themes of my books.
If you are looking for ideas for a book nerd family member or friend, or some last-minute hints to give for yourself, here are a couple more wish lists that have great book nerd gift ideas. BookBub’s Wish List and the
Bethany House Wish List.
- Which items from these lists would you most like to have waiting for you under the tree?
- Any bookish ideas you’d like to add to these lists?
One final item for your wish list – The Christmas Heirloom is on sale for only $2.99 for the e-book version at all major retailers through the end of December. Stuff your own stocking with a little Christmas cheer or surprise a friend with an e-gift. All you need is their email address to send them a copy.

I have a bookish puzzle on my wishlist as well and hope to see that under the tree! I recently stumbled upon a game called “Bring Your Own Book Game.” Sounds like a ton of fun! Here’s the description: Your old favorite book is now your new favorite game! Draw a category card, grab a book, and then quickly skim to satisfy the chosen prompt with the most entertaining phrase. Can you find “a ridiculous tabloid headline” in that best-selling novel? How about “dating advice” in your well-worn cookbook? Since you can use any book, you can play with any group and find limitless potential on every page! Where will you discover “the title of the next hit party game?” Find out when you Bring Your Own Book!

That game sounds fascinating, Joy! I’ll have to look into that one. That would be a great reader event game. 🙂

La-la-LOVE the earrings and puzzle. I got my librarian niece a pair of socks that look like old yellow library check out cards, and a book-aholic friend of mine some “Book Nerd” socks. Would’ve loved to have gotten them for myself as it’s going to be hard to give them away.
