I’m so excited. Today is the day I depart for my brainstorming retreat. This is the 12th annual retreat for this special group of writers. I’ve shared photos in the past and no doubt will share photos again, although I may not be first. Tamera and Tricia are also part of this “Plot, Play, & Pray Retreat.”
Whenever I’m asked what is my favorite part of writing, my answer is “Brainstorming!” There is something remarkably energizing about sitting around a table with nine other writers, ideas being tossed around left and right.
I love that we write so many different genres and sub-genres. For instance, I don’t write suspense. I even feel confident enough to say I will never write suspense. Just not my thing. But I love getting to brainstorm suspense novels for the authors who do write them. It’s stimulating. It forces me to think in a different way.
This retreat also comes at a great time for me, because I will soon be starting a new story. So now I am off to collect as many ideas as possible.

Enjoy your brainstorming. What an awesome idea! I can’t imagine how y’all keep up with the ideas being tossed around. You’ll need a scribe!!!!

Kav, we all take a lot of notes, but we also record the sessions so that everybody can listen to their own again later.

Have fun! I just hosted a brainstorming retreat at my house for three other authors (our second annual retreat), and we had a blast! It’s also one of my favorite aspects of writing. 🙂

We definitely have fun, Gabrielle. Bless you for hosting yours.

Have a great time. I can’t wait to see what you and the others create from this experience. It is always great to get away and just imagine and create. I have the experience at quilting retreats. I am excited to meet the new friends that are discovered during your retreat.

Dora, I have two cousins who are major quilters, and they attend an annual quilting retreat. It is always great to be with others who have similar passions and interests, isn’t it?

It sounds like a lot of fun to me. All that imagination at work! LOL. Just think about the different personalities and different story lines. Also they have a common interest in that they like to sell books; like to hear from their readers, And hopefully, above all; they want to bring glory to God. I would like to be a fly in the area so I could hear what they are saying as well as feeling. O, what fun!

What makes this group so special is, first of all, our love for the Lord. And if I see a fly buzzing around, I’m going to wonder if it is you, Faith.

LOL Robin! In my dreams, I’ll be there. O, I forgot to tell you that I read Legacy Lane this week. What a delightful story. I enjoyed it so much; but was sad when it ended so soon. It would make a great novel rather than novella.

Have a wonderful, productive time, Robin! 🙂
Can’t wait to view the photos from this special gathering.
Prayers for safe travels too.

I love reading about writing brainstorming retreats. It’s great that you and the others have each other to lean on for help during the early stages of your new stories. I wish I had a writing group to get together with. I look forward to hearing more about your time together.

I’m blessed to be part of it!
