On Stage

June 18, 2018 By Lynn Austin

While we were in California visiting our son Benjamin in April, my husband and I asked him to get tickets to watch a TV show being filmed. He was able to get seats at Universal Studios to watch the taping of two episodes of “Family Feud” with host Steve Harvey. We sat in the second row, front and center, and had a ball! The young man doing the warm-up act got the audience all fired up with his … [Read more...]

Ending and Beginning (In Life and Writing)

May 30, 2018 By D'Ann Mateer

I think it’s this way with most authors—by the end of a project you are weary of it. The story. The characters. It feels as if it is the most horrible thing you have ever written, but there it is. Anything that entails freestyle drawing is not going to end well if I'm holding … [Read more...]

A Growing Season

May 16, 2018 By D'Ann Mateer

It’s spring! Do you know what that means? Green grass. New leaves. Colorful flowers. The beginning of a season of growth. The truth is, I don’t pay a lot of attention to that kind of thing. Both of my grandmothers were amazing gardeners. One even owned a greenhouse! I, however, inherited the brownest thumb you can imagine. I even kill the aloe vera plants my mother insists don’t require much … [Read more...]

60th anniversary of a church plant

May 15, 2018 By Tamera Alexander

On Sunday, March 6, my son Kurt and I made a quick overnight trip to Atlanta to see my Dad and to attend the 60th anniversary of a church plant that he and mom were core members of all those many years ago. It was the church I grew up in, too. It was such an incredible blessing to be there.   Kurt and Dad that Saturday   The church had such a wonderful celebration that … [Read more...]
