My Eulogy to Dad, Part 2

September 17, 2019 By Tamera Alexander

Two weeks ago—after receiving requests from several of you—I shared the eulogy I gave at Dad's funeral on August 21 in which I shared seven lessons I learned from my precious Dad, who truly modeled what it was like to be a man after God's own heart. But I shared an abridged version. Because, well, like my books the eulogy was a little long. #majorshocker #notapithywriter Anyway... I posted … [Read more...]

Mackinac Island Adventures

September 12, 2019 By Cara Putman

Labor Day weekend found my family making the 7.5 hour drive from Indiana up the length of Michigan to Mackinac Island. This was our fourth visit to the island, but the first time we didn't have an infant or toddler. We laughed and hiked and biked and shopped and had an all around great time connecting. My Eulogy to Dad

September 3, 2019 By Tamera Alexander

Several of you have asked about the eulogy I gave at Dad's funeral almost two weeks ago and if I would share it. I'm happy to. But first, thank you, friends, for your recent prayers. Temporary Goodbyes

August 20, 2019 By Tamera Alexander

Dad's safely Home! You might have already read this on Facebook or Instagram, but if not. . . Last Monday morning, my sweet father breathed his last earthly breath and is now in the glorious presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We were gathered around Dad's bedside as he passed from this world to the next, and it was a sweet and peaceful passing. The presence of the Holy … [Read more...]

Tea and Chocolate

August 1, 2019 By Karen Witemeyer

The two things that pair best with books, in my opinion, are tea and chocolate. Dark chocolate, in particular. And black tea sweetened with honey. Whether I'm reading or writing, tea and chocolate (individually or together) always seem to heighten my bookish experience. Earlier this summer, I had the chance to visit Victoria, British Columbia for a couple days on the way to drop off my … [Read more...]
