Summertime with the Putmans

June 11, 2015 By Cara Putman

It's summer time, so as the mom of four kids, it means we're running all over the place. The idea that during the summer life slows down doesn't seem to fit us or any other family I've talked to lately. Instead, the pace of our days seems to have accelerated. Squeezing in time at the pool to play and relax is difficult, but so wonderful when we do. Today I thought I'd share a few photos from a … [Read more...]

Let’s Party! (With Giveaways Galore!)

June 5, 2015 By Jody Hedlund

My oldest is graduating from high school this year. Where has the time gone!? Needless to say it's been a very busy few weeks not only in planning and preparing for his graduation party (which is this Sunday June 7th), but it's also been a busy time with going to graduation parties of all our friends who have graduating seniors. Many of these kids we've known since they were wearing diapers and in … [Read more...]

In a cathedral in Europe my daughter said I DO!

June 3, 2015 By Tricia Goyer

Saturday, May 23 was like something out of a movie. My son Nathan (21) walked me down the aisle of a European cathedral built in the 12th century. My husband was waiting to walk her down the aisle minutes after my entrance. She wore a beautiful gown, and a handsome … [Read more...]

The Brave Writer

May 20, 2015 By Tricia Goyer

I've never considered myself a brave person. I'm not one to bungee jump, and the best I've done on the ski slopes is the beginner's run. (And with much trepidation at that!) Stepping out and deciding to pursuing writing was one of my bravest steps. Writing about the deep pain and struggles in my life—in my fiction and non-fiction—has been the bravest. Yet I've done other things that are … [Read more...]

Has Self-Discipline Become an Antiquated Word?

April 17, 2015 By Jody Hedlund

My twin daughters (age 15) have gone without eating sweets for almost four months. In January they both made the resolution to eat healthier during 2015. They decided that one way they could do that was by cutting out desserts, candy, and any other sweet treats. While I applaud their decision, I haven't joined them in giving up sweets. At this point, I'm not feeling called to abandon my … [Read more...]
