Mysteries of History

March 18, 2020 By D'Ann Mateer

One of the reasons I love history is because so often it is full of mystery. As a novelist, I love stepping into that mystery with my imagination, building from what I know of an era to fill in the spaces of people’s stories that history has left blank. But being trained in history, I also love pursuing the mystery, digging and digging until an assumed-to-be lost story suddenly comes to life. … [Read more...]

The Chosen…a must-see series!

February 18, 2020 By Tamera Alexander

Have you watched The Chosen yet? If not, you must! This video series has already brought me closer to Christ and I'm not even to episode 5 yet! Little did he know his job would be so all-consuming and travel heavy as to make that nearly impossible! But just before Christmas, when the frenzy of holiday parties had ended and we hadn’t yet left to visit family, we had a rare, free Saturday and beautiful weather, … [Read more...]

A historic hotel and a good friend

November 20, 2019 By D'Ann Mateer

I went on a trip to Washington, D.C. with my husband last week. No surprise there. I often travel with him. And I’ve been to D.C. with him about a bazillion times. (Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration, but still!) We’ve stayed at several different hotels in the city over the years, but the one we’ve stayed at the most—and the one we returned to this trip—was the Mayflower Hotel. (Yes, that … [Read more...]
