The Redcoats are Coming!

June 18, 2015 By Karen Witemeyer

I'm probably way behind the viewing curve here, but I just discovered the series When Calls the Heart on Netflix. It was inspired by the classic books by Janette Oke. As far as I can tell there have been two seasons that have aired on the Hallmark Channel.  Netflix has access to season one. I watched the first episode this week, and I'm already in love. Period dramas are right up my alley, … [Read more...]

Do You Believe?

April 2, 2015 By Karen Witemeyer

Last Friday, a group of women from our church got together for a movie night where we went to see Do You Believe? the latest release from the Christian production company, Pure Flix. The Hundred-Foot Journey

February 23, 2015 By Deborah Raney

I'd much rather read than watch a movie, but Ken and I watched a DVD Saturday night that I absolutely loved! It's a wonderful series in its simplicity at capturing everyday English life in the late 1800's and comparing the lives of the people who dwell in the poorer hamlet of Lark Rise to those of the more prosperous Candleford. This is done through the story of the … [Read more...]

The Love of Story

December 10, 2014 By Robin Lee Hatcher

Jerry and I returned about an hour ago (when I wrote this post) from seeing the movie, Interstellar. Over the last month, I've had several friends rave about the movie, but somehow, other than knowing it was a movie about the earth in trouble and some people going into space to find another place for mankind to live, I managed to stay ignorant of any details. What a movie experience. Truly. I … [Read more...]
