The Worst Winter in Decades Here in SW Idaho

January 11, 2017 By Robin Lee Hatcher

We don't normally get a lot of cold and snow in the Treasure Valley where I live. Idaho's snow usually keeps to the mountains and the eastern side of the state. But we have had a cold, snowy, and dangerous winter, beginning before Christmas. Now we've got flooding and homes everywhere with roof damage (including my daughter who is mopping up and repairing today). Schools were closed three days … [Read more...]

Taking Time to Dance with Monarchs

November 3, 2016 By Karen Witemeyer

Don't you love that definition? Even though our Declaration of Independence imbues us with the inalienable right to pursue happiness, I think too often we get stuck in the pursuit phase and never sit down to enjoy the blessings our Creator surrounds us with every day. But remembering a nest of mourning doves we'd watched in the same planter the first summer we lived here, I relented and let the nest … [Read more...]

Searching for Pitcher Plants

July 15, 2015 By Lenora Worth

Happy Wednesday. I've had a quirky week so I thought I'd just take a little vacation with all of you before I head out on a road trip to the RWA (Romance Writers of America) Conference. Let's start with a nice image of a peaceful place. This was taken on a river near where we live in Florida. Quite and beautiful and out in the middle of nowhere. My husband wanted to find some of the … [Read more...]
