Next week I plan (Lord willing) to meet author-friends Michelle Griep and Erica Vetsch for a writing retreat in Iowa. We’re looking forward to catching up and writing LOTS of words!
While we’re there, we’ll also be doing two book talks & signings:
Thursday, June 23, 2022
10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at Grinnell (1009 Main St)
2:00–4:00 p.m. at Marshalltown (14 W Main St)
We’ll be serving tea and a local pastry called “Dutch Letters,” which I’m looking forward to tasting for the first time. If you live near either of these bookstores, we’d love to meet you! (If not, but you know someone who does, please help us spread the word.)
Everything’s more fun with friends, don’t you think?
Do you have any fun plans with friends this summer? Please share.

Julie, our son is a graduate of Grinnell College! He played basketball and football there for four years and we spent many a Saturday at the games on campus! I SO wish I was close enough to come—especially since you’re serving Dutch letters! Mmmm!

Sounds like a lot of fun! I have not been to Iowa–but I have read two of the books listed. Shadows of Swanford Abbey definitely had a gothic feel to it. I loved the characters Rebecca Lane and Sir Frederick. I also loved the setting in the Abbey! I plan to reread this one. I also read Lost in Darkness, and actually cried for Colin. After I finished the book, I found the Jabez prayer in I Chronicles 4:10 and thought it would have been appropriate for both Colin and Graham. I have not read The Debutante’s Code yet, but plan to order it from another local library. Happy writing!
