Excitement is building here in the Klassenland. Only 3 weeks until the launch of my new book, The Secret of Pembrooke Park. Local readers are invited to join me on 12/1 at 7:00 p.m. for a launch party at my local bookstore (Har Mar B & N, Roseville, MN). The Kindle version releases even earlier on 11/25.
I just received my printed copies. Look how thick this baby is! My longest book yet at 464 pages. Yes, I’m all about giving you value for your money. 🙂 (It was a LOT of work. Remind me never to write such a long book again. I can already hear my editor saying, “I’ll believe it when I see it!”)
I’m feeling happy, relieved, and blessed that advance reviewers are giving the book enthusiastic thumbs up:
4 1/2 Stars and a Top Pick!
“Regency romance with secrets, hidden rooms, charmers and rogues, and of course, romance. Julie Klassen has hit this one out of the ballpark!” —Romantic Times Book Reviews
“Jane Austen meets Victoria Holt in Christy Award-winning Klassen’s (The Dancing Master, 2014) latest deliciously spooky and sweetly romantic historical, and the author’s deft incorporation of the faith-based component of her story means this well-crafted romance will have wide appeal beyond inspirational romance fans.” —Booklist
I hope you, too, will enjoy the book when it comes out—very soon now! Thank you for sharing my happy news. Now, back to writing the next one…

Sqqqqquuuuueeeeaaaaalllllllll! You just made my day. I had no idea this was due out so soon!! I’m ecstatic!!!!!!! And I don’t mind those extra pages at all. 🙂 Jane Austen meets Victoria Holt — be still my heart. I’m already swooning at the thought. Can you tell I’m excited???????
Yes, I can tell you’re excited, Kav. Love it! Thanks for brightening my day.
Congratulations to you on your new release, Julie! I always shoot to write books that are shorter than they end up being. I wish I had the skill of brevity!
I wish I could be less verbose as well, Becky! Thanks for sharing my pain. 🙂
Congratulations Julie! I was just reading the blurb for this one yesterday. Very intriguing! And I’m all for longish books too.
Thanks, Lori. We historical authors love our long books, don’t we?
Great news Julie! Can’t wait to see your book hit the shelves over here:) I’ll make sure I’m first in line. Lol
@Kav,….I’m with you my friend. I’m excited too but when you swoon, don’t hit the deck too hard. It’d be a pity to knock yourself out ,before you read Julie’s book!LOL
Hee hee. Thanks, Rosie!
I’m so excited for you, Julie! And as Kav said, I don’t mind the extra pages one bit. 🙂
I’m looking forward to your book launch, always a fun event! (My daughter wants to know if there will be any cute models this time …)
Thanks, Brenda. And no, no cute models this time. Sorry!
Julie, I have had this book pre-ordered for months. I love reading your books! The long page count doesn’t bother me at all. The story will last longer! I will be sad not to see the quotes at the beginning of each chapter though. I will miss them. I hope you go back to them in the future.
I know this is off topic, but I saw on Amazon that you have a new book coming out from Berkley (Penguin Group). Are you still going to be publishing with Bethany House as well, or are you making a move to a new publisher?
Hi Sylvia,
Yes, I’ll still be publishing with Bethany House–recently signed a contract for 4 more–yay! Hope you enjoy the new book.
YAY!! Can’t wait for the new book and the release party! The girls are super excited about it, and I can’t wait to indulge in some heavy duty reading over the holidays. Already curious about the secret room….
Thanks, Sara! We’ll have to talk soon about the video…
WHOOOOO WEEEEEEEE!!!!! Can’t wait!
Thanks, Jan!
I have a niece who lives in Roseville, MN! I forwarded this newsletter to her & she takes her toddler to Har Mar B & N for story hour! She’s going to try to make it out to meet you!!! (If I can’t meet you in person b/c I don’t live in MN anymore, then I can hint to a niece to go meet you!)
Thanks so much for letting her know, Barb. I appreciate it and will look forward to meeting her.
Congratulations, Julie! And those are wonderful reviews! The first of many, I’m sure! Have fun with the release! Always an exciting time!
Thanks, Deb. Hope you’re right!
I’m soooo excited!! Can’t wait to read it! Was telling a friend just this morning about how much I love your books, so hopefully she’ll become a new fan of yours. 🙂
YAY!!! 🙂 Cannot wait to read this one!
And I’m keeping plenty of candles on hand in case we lose power while I’m reading this one, hehehe… 😉 (Don’t know if you remember my sharing the time I was reading your book The Girl in the Gatehouse, and we lost power. So I placed NINE lit candles around me so I could continue reading very late at night! Thankfully I didn’t catch my house on fire, although my husband thought I was holding a séance when he came downstairs, LOL.) 😉
Happy Hugs, Patti Jo 🙂
The thicker the better!! Please don’t try to write small books cause that is one thing I look when buying a book! I’ve already preordered this one! Can’t wait! Oh me! Now just to find the time to read it!
