My new book, Falling for You, released last week and it’s become a tradition for me to post an interview with my cover model(s) near the time of a book’s publication. My annual cover model post is always one of my favorites!
Each of my cover models has responded generously when I’ve invaded their email inbox with my list of questions — which is what has made these posts possible. My heartfelt thanks to Morgan, Falling for You’s stunning cover model. I’m grateful to you for giving us a peek into your life!
Tell me about yourself! I currently live in NE Minneapolis with my incredible husband Nick and our Italian Greyhound, Riddick. Nick and I have the great pleasure of working together for our own media company, with my particular focus being on photography. I also model part-time, so it’s fun to be behind the camera as well as in front of the camera!
What are your hobbies? I truly love what I do for work, so I definitely see photography and modeling as hobbies. However, when I am not working, I absolutely LOVE being in the kitchen cooking and experimenting with food. I have a passion for health and clean-eating, so creating new recipes that are both healthy and taste great is fun for me!
How did you become the cover model for Falling for You? I believe I was contacted by a friend who works for Bethany House Publishing to see if I was interested, and from there she spoke to my agent and before I knew it I was booked for the job!
When you think back to the day of the cover shoot, what memories stick out? What sticks out the most to me was the fantastic team I got to work with! Everyone was so kind and genuinely devoted to produce a great book cover – and that we did!
Did anything particularly funny or uncomfortable happen the day of the shoot? It’s funny you ask about feeling uncomfortable at the shoot because I will admit while we were shooting on the stairs I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes! I had to do my best to ignore them and not squat at them every 10 seconds. One wonderful thing about the shoot was that the heels I wore for my wedding were a part of the final look. It was such a special touch.
What do you think of the finished cover? The finished cover is absolutely stunning! I love the different colors – from the plants, to the shoes and the dress – it all came together so nicely. I also really enjoy the overall dreamy and ethereal feel the cover possesses. Everyone did a spectacular job!
………………………..
And now (just for fun) a quiz to see how similar you are to the heroine of Falling for You….
Are you a professional model? Yes! I have been professionally modeling for over 7 years!
Do you have an affinity for bracelets? I actually don’t normally wear bracelets, though I did have quite a collection of them! For jewelry I always wear my wedding rings and earrings.
Are you the oldest sibling in your family? I am not, I am number 3 of 7 kids!
Have you spent much time traveling overseas? I love traveling! Back in my late teens, I spent 4 summers doing missionary work in both South America and Eastern Europe. I always love seeing more of this beautiful world we live in.
Do you have a tendency to binge-shop for home accessories when stressed? Not really, I am actually not big on shopping! When stressed I like to take a long walk with my dog, Riddick.
Do you have a weakness for NFL quarterbacks? Haha! My husband and I are both big NFL football fans (Go Vikings!) and to be honest I may have had a mini crush or two on some quarterbacks…but get this, my biggest recent “crush” was on one of Minnesota’s latest quarterbacks, Sam Bradford! (The character she portrays on the book cover is named Willow Bradford). How ironic!
Thanks again, Morgan!

I always enjoy these posts!! I love that Morgan’s wedding shoes made the final cover – love little details like that.
We had a miniature Italian greyhound when we first married! She was a gorgeous dog. I always felt like she was walking me when I went out with her! 😉

I love that the shoes on the cover were Morgan’s wedding shoes! I’d assumed they were purchased by the cover design team. That they were her wedding shoes makes that aspect of the cover that much more charming.
And I think I could use a dog to walk me. Maybe then I’d get more cardio. 😉

What a fun interview! I loved getting the tidbits from the cover model regarding the core shoot and her life. Makes the cover seem so much more real…
Becky Wade says
It does make the cover seem more real, doesn’t it? It adds a layer when you know something about the model as a person!
Julie says
What a fun interview that was. It’s nice that she’s on both sides of the camera!
Becky Wade says
I agree! I’m guessing that Morgan’s experience as a photographer has informed her work as a model. In my opinion, she did a fantastic job on Falling for You’s cover. There’s just something about her expression and pose that adds a sparkle… that captures the story beautifully.

I enjoyed reading the interview. It’s neat to be reminded there is a “real” person behind the story.
Becky Wade says
Yes! Thanks for stopping by Carolyn. 🙂

Thanks so much, Daphne!

Love these interviews, Becky! I have to admit this is one of my favorite covers of yours. It just has that Cinderella feel to it. And learning that the shoes were actually from Morgan’s own wedding? Fairy tale bliss right there. 🙂
Becky Wade says
I agree about the cover’s “Cinderella feel”, Karen! And the shoes = fairy tale bliss for me, too. After all, we romance writers appreciate a good fairy tale happily ever after.

It is always fun to read about the models on your covers!

Thanks, Mom!

I love these behind the scenes interviews!! Yeah! I also love that the shoes are from her wedding…but honestly, the fact that she looks calm cool and collected (and GORGEOUS) all while battling my personal kryptonite (mosquitoes) was most impressive! 🙂
Becky Wade says
So impressive!

About all I have in common with Morgan is my weakness for NFL quarterbacks. My current quarter-crush is Derek Carr from the Oakland Raiders. I’m totally smitten with his dark hair light eyes handsomeness. But I don’t have a weakness for just quarterbacks….pointing atyou, J.J. Watt and since I live in Tennessee my local choice is Eric Decker of the Titans
Becky Wade says
I loved hearing about your football playing crushes, Amy! You’re a girl after my own heart. I’ve written two football playing heroes, now, and had a blast both times.

I finished Falling for You several days after I started it and loved it! It was delightful reading and if work had not interfered would have finished it sooner. Loved the character development, the relational tension, which was beautifully resolved by the end and a good dose of humor. Can’t wait for Britt’s story next
Alyssa says
I do have similarities with Morgan, but only because I to live in MN! And love the Vikings #hometownteam

I share Willow’s sass! Lol. Loved that she gave Corbin as good as she got.
And thanks for the fun interview 🙂

Wonderful interview. She is darling! The only thing I have in common with Willow is the love of bracelets!
