Crashing can be such fun (much like giveaways)!

April 7, 2015 By Tamera Alexander

I crashed a book club last week, and oh what fun it was!

I was supposed to Skype with this group of sweet gals at 7PM but since the hostess didn’t live that far from me, I decided to surprise them instead. So I parked down the street and called in at 7PM as planned—as I was walking up the sidewalk to the house.

The husband answered the door, and I put my hand over the phone and asked him if a book club was meeting there. He eyed me a little funny and said, “Yes…” When I told him I was the author of the book they were discussing, he quickly joined in the fun and let me in. So I walked around the corner to the group while still speaking with them on the phone. What fun!

I have NO idea what I was doing with my hands.
But I’m fairly sure I couldn’t talk if they were tied.

It was such a joy to meet with these ladies, to hear their thoughts on A Beauty So Rare, to laugh and get to know each other, and to share our love for the Lord Jesus. Thank you, Melody Moore and the rest of you sweet ladies, for welcoming me so warmly to your meeting last week.

I also loved that everyone was wearing pink in honor of Eleanor, the heroine in A Beauty So Rare. And all the recipes from the book that Melody (the hostess) made…delicious! Totally made my week.

When’s the last time someone really surprised you? And what fun activities does your book club participate in? Do you ever Skype with authors?

What FUN way to surprise a book club! Btw, I’m fairly certain I couldn’t talk if my hands were tied either. Especially when I’m speaking to a group of people. 😉

Sometimes when Joe wants me quiet, he’ll just reach over and take hold of my hands. : )

What a wonderful surprise for those ladies!
    Tammy, you are a sweetheart.
I love surprises, and it’s always fun to surprise someone when they definitely don’t have a clue what you’re up to. 😉
    Hugs, Patti Jo
