Thirty-plus Inspy authors descended upon Dallas last week attending the 2015 Romantic Times Booklovers Convention. What is the RT Convention, you ask?
The RT Convention is a massive conference dedicated to romance readers of all genres. It’s largely a secular conference, meaning that the majority of authors in attendance write secular romance across a variety of genres, including new adult and erotica.
I’m already hearing the question forming in some of your minds… Why are Inspy authors attending a secular conference?
Quite simply, because romance readers who read and enjoy secular writers (as I do) also read and love inspirational writers. And we love them, in return. And since spending time with readers is always a blast, RT is a fabulous space for writers to be.
This is the third year Inspy authors have attended RT and, in short, we had an absolute blast! We played Pictionary at an author-sponsored event for readers complete with lots of chocolate and, of course, surprise dance offs! Let me tell you, some of your favorite inspy writers have some really great moves (LOL).

Next year the RT Convention is in Las Vegas (April 12-17, 2016) and if you live nearby, I hope you’ll consider attending. I promise it will be an experience you won’t soon forget. But mostly, it will be an amazing opportunity to share the hope we have in Christ through the stories we read and write.
So tell me…
Tammy
Love the ‘feel all the feels‘ comment below. Made me smile!
Writing this collection with these gals was a great experience.
I hope you’ll check out these four Southern love stories

The last inspirational fiction book I have read is Miracle in a Dry Season by Sarah Loudin Thomas. The last book of secular fiction I read is The Lavender Garden by Lucinda Riley.

The cover of Sarah’s book is so lovely! And I’ve not heard of The Lavender Garden before, Susan. Thanks! Downloaded a sample to my Kindle!

I am looking forward to reading your newest release this summer. Released just in time for the races. Will we have a triple crown winner this year? I am so glad A Beauty so Rare has been nominated for a Christy award. I loved it!

What a wonderful ministry to bring the love of God to the RT convention. Keep shining your light in the darkness, Tammy. (That chocolate looked yummy.)

It WAS yummy. But not as good as German ice cream. ; )

LOVE that you read with your daughter. My daughter, Kelsey, and I used to read together when she was younger. Great discussion times. Thanks for sharing!

Funny you should ask! Just finished reading a recent release – To Win Her Favor. Awesome book! Am starting to read Jennifer Chiaverini’s book – Mrs. Grant and Madame Jule. I did just read one of the RT winners that was just announced and must say it couldn’t hold a candle to the Inspy authors I love to read.
The conference sounds like such fun. Very cool that you could attend and participate.

Thanks for your kind words, Sandy! And thanks for reading, friend. Mrs. Grant and Madame Jule. Checking that out! Loved Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker.

What a FUN (and yummy) time you all had, Tammy (trying not to drool over that chocolate fountain – Oh my!).
Personally I think it’s WONDERFUL for Inspy writers to be involved at functions with secular writers – – just another way for the Light to be shared. 🙂
I’ll admit I’m a Nora Roberts fan, though I do “skip over” certain graphic details and words. Two years ago I met her in person, and of course had to ask her if she has CATS. 😉 (sadly she doesn’t, but she does own dogs)
Anyway, one of her books was the last secular book I read (Blue Dahlia).
I mostly read Christian fiction, so I just finished Keli Gwyn’s Love Inspired Historical (FAMILY OF HER DREAMS) and loved it! Next up is TO WIN HER FAVOR by my fave author (you’re probably familiar with her—she has red hair). 😉
Thanks for sharing these pics with us!
Hugs, Patti Jo

LOL at you asking Nora is she has cats, Patti Jo! Made me laugh out loud, literally. You’re a hoot! And I hope you enjoy To Win Her Favor, friend. Sure appreciate your kind words. Hugging you from here!

This past weekend I read As Waters Gone By by Cynthia Ruchti. It was a book I couldn’t put down and cried about. Also just finished A Little Lower Than Angels by Caryl McAdoo. I want to read all in this series of Biblical based fiction. I don’t read many secular novels. Can’t think of the last one.
Tamera Alexander says
I’ve heard As Waters Gone By by Cynthia is marvelous! I’ve got it on my Kindle but haven’t started reading it yet. There just aren’t enough hours in the day. Thanks for sharing, Nancy! Oh, and I’m checking out A Little Lower Than Angels. Appreciate that!
