It’s both fun and comforting to interact with people who share your love of reading, isn’t it? Many of us are involved in a local book club. Many of us congregate with like-minded readers via Facebook groups or Twitter, Instagram, and the like. And perhaps a few of us have had the opportunity to attend a large-scale event for readers.
I thought I’d take this post to list some of the wonderful upcoming reader events I know about. With any luck, one of these might be within driving distance of where you live. If so, here’s hoping you’ll be inspired to grab a book-loving friend and attend an event that will enable you to chat with authors and mingle with readers. I’ve placed a link to each event in the body of this post. Click on that to be taken to a site with more details.
The first event I’m going to list is the one that’s nearest and dearest to my heart because it’s the only one specifically for readers of Christian fiction and because I’ll be speaking at it. 😉
But it’s in August! you say. I haven’t even thought about what I’ll be doing in August yet.

I’m coming to the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat! I was thrilled when I learned it would only be two hours from where I live, and even more thrilled to see that you would be there, along with so many wonderful authors. I grabbed a friend and signed up and have been waiting impatiently ever since. I have never been to an event like this but am really looking forward to it!

WAAAHHH! I wish I could come!
I really wish that I could be there to meet all of my favourite authors and talk about books! Once I get started in talking about books, there’s little that can stop me! Unfortunately I can’t make it though because I am in Western Australia. I really wish that we could have something like that here. That would be fantastic!
Oh well, maybe one day I’ll be able to attend one of your events.

Yep, Western Australia is a wee bit distant from Ohio. 🙂 Did you know that I lived in Perth for a year? From ’96-’97. My husband and I loved our time there!

I’m not going to be attending the one in Florida in July this year, Jennifer. We have family trips planned. However, I believe that Inspired by Life’s own Robin Lee Hatcher and Karen Witemeyer WILL be there!
