Faith, Hope, & Love

This time last week, I was packing my bags, wearing my books & tea shirt with my comfy pants, and heading to the airport to fly to Phoenix, AZ to attend the Faith, Hope, & Love Christian Writers Conference.

Over the past few years, this conference has become one of my favorite writing events to attend. It’s an intimate-sized conference (although we are growing – over 100 this year!) made up of Christian authors who write romance.
I have to admit that I’m a little biased in my opinions, though. I’m one of the co-chairs for this conference and get to have a say in who our speakers are and what topics are covered, but it’s the fellowship and encouragement that can’t be beat.

I got to play MC for most of the weekend, which was fun. I even got to start the event off by introducing the fabulous Susan May Warren. Her masterclass was filled to the brim with great craft advice and tips for tightening our prose.

Some of the highlights included Susie’s keynote address on Saturday (she had everyone reaching for tissues), the celebration of our organization’s 30th anniversary, a session with active K-9 officers and their four-legged partner, genre chats where I got to geek out with my historical writing cronies, and our worship time capped off by an inspirational session led by our very own Robin Lee Hatcher.

It was a wonderful time of encouragement, professional nourishment, and renewed focus on the Author who is writing our stories. Strengthening existing friendships and starting new ones brought such joy.

What are some of your favorite group events to attend?
Family reunions, girls’ night out, church game nights?
I’d love to hear about them!

Sounds like a wonderful event. So happy you enjoyed it.
Aside from church events, I love Zoom discussions with authors. Roseanna M. White offers monthly discussions with her readers’ group. It is so great to see and hear others who are from all over the country.
Roseanna is amazing! And Zoom meetings with readers are a great idea. I might need to consider that. 🙂
Loved seeing these photos from the conference! Christian romance authors. MY PEOPLE! 🙂
It’s always fun to hang out with Christian authors!
Loved seeing these pictures, Karen!
I really hope (Lord willing) to attend this conference next year – – I haven’t been to
a Christian writers conference in person since pre-Covid (ugh–I don’t like that virus). 🙁
And being with other Christian writers is SO energizing and fun, not to mention I
always learn sooo much!
Thanks for sharing today!
Hugs, Patti Jo (who uses way too many !!!) 😉
Oh, I hope you are able to come, Patti Jo. It really is a wonderful event!!!! (I had to throw in some extra ! in your honor. Ha!)
