Happy New Year, friends!
I’ll happily admit that I was grateful to kiss 2016 goodbye! It was a rough year in many ways. And yet nestled within those rough patches were also precious times of blessing. Which is so like our Heavenly Father to give us those encouragements, those glimpses of Himself.
During Christmas our family managed to carve out time to catch a couple of movies and play some games. We saw Rogue One (really enjoyed it!) and also Passengers (loved it and can hardly wait to see it again! I keep thinking about the characters in Passengers and wondering about them, in a good way. #nospoilers).
We also played Scattergories and had such fun. Lots of laughter and sarcastic, disbelieving looks. But I couldn’t believe it when my husband and I got the same answer on the following question: A farm animal starting with the letter “J.” We both wrote…jiggie piggy! Which has absolutely no special meaning whatsoever except that we were both basically cheating. LOL.
Just goes to show you what 32 years of living with someone will do! 🙂
Even with all the love and fun, holidays can also have melancholy moments, and I always look forward to getting back to the routine of life. I even look forward to taking down the Christmas decorations. Or more rightly, I enjoy having them put away. : )
At the start of this New Year, I find myself in need of re-centering. And to aid that endeavor I’m listening to the audio audio book of We Shall See God by Randy Alcorn. It’s helping in a major way. This is my second time through the book, and I’m loving it all over again. What a blessing this little jewel has been to my life and to my longing for heaven.
So what did you do over the holidays? See any good movies? Play any fun games? Read any great books?
Lastly, if you’re a coffee lover, then be sure and check out January’s Giveaway on my website—which is exclusively for my newsletter friends. I host a giveaway each month just for that group. So if your name isn’t already in the proverbial hat, I invite you to toss it on in! And thank you for staying connected!
Continued blessings in this New Year!

Jiggy Piggy?! LOL Your poor husband. He’s not only married to you, you’re rubbing off on him! 🙂
I’m heading back into work after 12 blissful days off with my family. Our son flies back to his job today. We still have our daughter until the weekend. It was so good to be together. My girl wore me out shopping – she needed “teacher clothes” since this semester is student teaching!
Can’t wait for that book to be in my hands! <3

LOL at “teacher clothes.” Excited for your daughter and all that awaits her! Wonderful on the 12 days, Linda. Hope you’re refreshed and ready for 2017. And please…read S-L-O-W-L-Y! ; )

I thoroughly enjoyed Passengers, too, Tammy! FASCINATING premise. Good acting, good characters, good romance. 🙂

Thanks for the smile -jiggy piggy??? I love it. I must admit it’s good to know someone else is ready to put all the decorations away and return to normal life. I love the holidays but I find the pace speeding up everyday and was glad when today arrived and I could breath a sigh and relax. Spending time with family and friends is wonderful but I could make a great case for peace and quiet at this point.
