Did you know that July 12 is National Different Colored Eyes Day?

When I discovered this holiday a short time ago, I knew I had to do something to celebrate in honor of my latest heroine, Evangeline, who happens to have heterochromia – two different colored eyes.

I wanted to do something fun and easy, so I came up with a photo contest.

Photo Contest Guidelines:

  • Take a picture of something brown next to something blue. This can be a brown M&M next to a blue one. Two of your kids next to each other, one in a brown shirt, one wearing blue. Anything fun and creative. (I just took a quick photo of some cross-stitch threads with a project I am working on as an example.)
  • Email your photo to: agreen@bethanyhouse.com. Emails can be sent anytime between now (July 9) and noon (CST) on July 12.
    Subject line should read: Karen Witemeyer’s Photo Contest.
  • Photos must be submitted by noon (CST) on Thursday, July 12. No more than two photos may be submitted per person.
  • After noon (CST) on Thursday, July 12, all photos will be posted on my Facebook Author Page.
  • Two winners will be selected by noon on Friday, July 13 – I’ll select my favorite, and my fans will select theirs. The photo with the most likes will win the Reader’s Choice prize.
  • Winners will be announced here and on my Facebook page on July 13 and will be contacted via email with instructions on how to claim their prize. (Contest open to those with US addresses only.)
  • Both winners will receive an autographed copy of More Than Meets the Eye.
