My German Cover – Same cover art, but apparently the Germans like to actually see the hero’s face. Crazy, I know. LOL

This week, I’ve been blessed with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Germany, and boy, am I leaning heavily on the Lord’s leadership on this one. Fellow author, Lisa Wingate, and I were invited by our German publisher to visit their wonderful country, participate in a book tour promoting our latest German releases, and culminating in a large book festival in Marburg on June 4. (I’m writing this before I leave, so I don’t have details to share yet, but I promise to tell you all about it when I get back.)

Here’s a little video my husband recorded to send to Francke Publishing to post on YouTube to advertise the book festival. (I’ll have you know I did this in one take. WooHoo! Of course, I practiced about 10 times before we filmed, and I was so jittery when I finished with the first one, that I decided not to press my luck with another pass. Ha!)

neuschwanstein castle side viewI’ve been fortunate enough to travel to Europe a couple of times in the past, but this will be my first time to visit Germany. I wish I had time to sight-see. I’ve always wanted to visit the castles of Bavaria – especially Neuschwanstein Castle – the one which inspired the Sleeping Beauty castle for Disney. Yes, my fairy-tale-loving, romantic-sap of a heart would like nothing better. However, this will be a business trip, so the castles will have to wait for another day. I can live with that. It wouldn’t be the same touring Neuschwanstein without my Prince Charming by my side, anyway.

banner-autorenfestival-2016So while I’m away, I won’t be able to respond to your comments, but I’d love to read them when I return.

What dream vacation would you take if you could go anywhere you wanted?

Auf Wiedersehen!

    Karen,
I wish I could be there to see you on June 4th. I currently live one hour away from Marburg, but we are leaving on a family trip today. I guess I will have to see you sometime in the states. Ironically, we are moving to Texas in a few weeks. God Bless you! Safe travels.

I am almost all German, but Germany would not be my first choice. I would love to go to England and Scotland. I’ve been dreaming of that for years!

I loved seeing the German cover!!! I think Ireland would be a beautiful place to visit. Or anywhere that I can see the Ocean 🙂

A great video! Love it! My dream vacation would be to go to Mount Pleasant, SC to visit our son and daughter-in-love. We don’t get there as often as we would like to visit. 🙂

What an awesome opportunity! I lived in Germany for 4 years (when I was 10-14) because my mom and dad worked at Frankfurt International School. Ever since, I’ve had a special place in my heart for Germany. I’m praying that you and Lisa have a wonderful trip!

How exciting for you Karen! Have a wonderful time!
My dream vacation would be anywhere my daughter and grandsons are. I have not seen them for two years. It wouldn’t matter if we sat in a room doing nothing.
