Hello, Inspired by Life and Fiction friends!
I am happy to say that I am presently in England (Lord willing) leading my first-ever group trip to the country where all of my books have been set so far.
I am blessed to be traveling with a group of 39 reader-friends and colleagues from many different states. Together with two travel professionals, we have been planning and dreaming about this trip for well over a year. Hosting a group is something I’ve never done before, so I’m excited (and a wee bit nervous).
While we’re in England, we’ll be visiting places related to my books, like the breathtaking Devon coast (a setting of The Painter’s Daughter), Great Chalfield Manor (which inspired The Secret of Pembrooke Park), and Lacock, the National Trust village that serves as the model for Ivy Hill in the Tales From Ivy Hill series.
We’ll also be visiting locations related to Jane Austen like Winchester Cathedral and Bath (home of the UK’s Jane Austen Festival). And, we’ll visit some of my favorite places in England like the charming Cotswolds, as well as Oxford and London.
We’ll be staying in a variety of modern hotels as well as historic country houses like the one below.
And, we’ll be eating a lot of health food. 🙂
While I’m away traveling, my access to the internet will be limited, but I’ll try to post daily photos to Facebook if I can. And when we return, I’ll be sure to share pictures and stories from the trip here.
In the meantime, I would really appreciate your prayers for a good trip and safe return for all. Thank you and God bless.
