November is nearly upon us, and this year I plan to document my gratitude in my faith planner (with an occasional excursion into my journaling Bible). My goal is to every day write down at least one thing for which I am thankful.
I have been using my faith planner for daily Scripture writing (see large version of example at left here), but I decided to take a break from that for the 30 days of November in order to record my thanksgiving.
I’m a firm believer that we should all live in an attitude of gratitude. We are happier people when we are grateful instead of complaining.
Would you care to join me for a Gratitude Documented Challenge?
You don’t need anything but a notebook or journal. Or you can use a planner like I’m doing. Or you could use the margins of your Bible. A black pen might be enough or you could use pens and paints in all the colors of the rainbow. Or you could fill an album with photos of what and who you are thankful for and skip the pen altogether
How you choose to document your gratitude is totally up to you. I just hope you will participate.
Thankful for each one of you.

PS Need some inspiration? Illustrated Faith has a free digital download to be used in November. It is a sheet of wordfetti, a line for each day of the month. Each line contains something to be thankful for, a corresponding Bible verse, and then some additional words or phrases.

I love your planner idea, Robin! Over the last couple years, I started writing down scriptures that were meaningful to me as I read on spiral bound 3×5 cards, and now I’ve just started going back through those cards and choosing one per week to meditate on and incorporate into my prayers. It’s been a rich experience. I imagine your November gratitude challenge will be the same.

Karen, I also have Scriptures written on 2×3 cards (Circa cards so that I can reposition them). So handy to have that way.

I agree! If we’re oriented in the truth of the undeserved grace we’ve been given, our default state of mind should be one of gratitude.
I’ve downloaded the digital “wordfetti” you mentioned and look forward to praying through the accompanying scriptures in November!
