Last Friday, May 30th, was Deb’s actual birthday. But we’re still celebrating here on IBL&F!

Joe and I drove to Missouri for a quick weekend visit with Ken and Deb—and to help celebrate Deb’s 70th! Doesn’t she make 70 look good!
We walked along the Mighty Mississippi…

We rode our electric bikes…

We visited the local farmers market and shared Amish donuts. Delicious!

We went garage sale-ing (and will share about our fun finds in another post) . . .

We had some golden porch time conversations, and just generally enjoyed laughing and sharing and celebrating Deb’s birthday—along with 25 years (and counting) of friendship and being writing critique partners. Here’s a pic showing part of that 25 year span . . .

Please join me in wishing our sweet Deb a very happy 70th bday! I told her I want us to get together just like this when I turn 70. I’ve got six years to go, but I’m nippin’ at her heels! Have you gotten together with a friend recently to celebrate their birthday? How did you celebrate?

Now I’m back home and happily tucked away in my office writing toward The End on this next book. It’s been another “bear of a book” to write, but I’m so encouraged by how it’s all finally coming together. God is so faithful to provide us with what we need just when we need it—and to give us time with dear friends who flood our souls with fresh love, encouragement, and creativity. I’m so grateful.
Happy 70th Birthday, again, dearest Deb!
Hugs from my corner of Nashville,
Tammy

Happy Birthday to Deb! I love the enduring friendship you two have!
Happy birthday, Deb! I enjoyed seeing the photos of you two friends! You always look like you’re having the BEST time! And porch talking is my favorite!
THANK YOU, dear, dear friend for that fun birthday post! My goodness! At the rate you’re going we’ll still be celebrating my 70th when I’m 75! (And then it’ll be almost time to celebrate YOUR 70th! 😉 )
LOL. It’s a date!
Happy belated birthday. Wishing you a blessed year.
She can’t be 70. Maybe 50. Happy Happy Birthday Deb. In the last two pictures it looks like they were taken the same day 20 years ago.
Happy Birthday Deb! From Deb who turned 69 on May 19th.
Happy 69th, Deb! Praying this next year is your best one yet—this side of heaven. : )
Thank you! You have a blessed year with dreams fulfilled and happiness in abundance.
Happy, Happy Birthda. Deb!!!

Happy Birthday Deb! Many blessing in the years to come!
I smiled all the way through this post! Deb makes 70 look extremely good. And that flower cart has aged way more than the two of you have. Here’s to birthdays and long-term friendships!
LOL, thanks, Becky! 😉
Happy Birthday Deb! Wishing many birthday blessings. 🙂
Thank you for all the wonderful happy birthday wishes! You guys are just the best! ❤️
Thanks, friends, for celebrating with us, and for all the kind comments. I told Deb we do “birthday weeks” in our family. LOL So we’re keeping her party going! I’m so grateful we got to celebrate this birthday for her together. Really sweet. And that our husbands actually enjoy each other, too, makes the friendship all the sweeter.: ) Oh, and the meals she cooked for us while there. So delicious! Maybe she’ll share those when it’s her next time to post. So. Good! A sheet pan chicken and then roast beef tacos. Yum!
I’m still basking in the memories of our weekend together. And yes, I love that our husbands get along so well. As for the cooking, Ken loves when we have company because then he gets a nice home-cooked meal or two. Everything I made was super simple, but I like simple foods. And we are enjoying the leftovers this week! 🙂 P.S. That guacamole you made to go with the Copacabana Tacos was mwaaaah! (And yes, I’ll try to remember to share the recipes because they really are easy peasy, especially good for not having to spend too much time in the kitchen!
Love this so much! You two are just amazing–authors, friends, encouragers. Yay!
Awww, thanks, Elizabeth!
Happy Belated Birthday, Deb! Looks like you had a fabulous day!
