I’m the new kid on the block and I’m happy to be here. When Robin invited me to join, I was a bit intimidated by the roster of wonderful writers here. I’ve know some of them for a long time and I’m looking forward to getting to know the others. I’ve read many of their books. So I had a “girl fan” moment and thought “I’m not worthy.”
When I turned to my husband to explain in a breathless bliss that I was about to join this blog, he looked so confused it was comical. But he’s used to me not making any sense. After a long time of contemplating (about two minutes) and in spite of all the plates I have spinning, I said YES. So here I am, ready to inspire you (and be inspired) about life and fiction.
I am a Southern girl, born and raised in Southwest Georgia. We moved to Louisiana after living in Atlanta for a while. We lived in Louisiana for over thirty years. Now we are in the Panhandle of Florida, on a quiet bay. (Well, I usually scream when I finish a book or get a new contract and that scares even the dolphins.)
I’ve been married to my sweetheart for forty years. We married right out of high school but we first met when we were about five years old. (A date in a wading pool.) We’ve had ups and downs and we’ve been all around but we are blessed. We have two grown children, a daughter and a son.
I love cooking, shopping, and shoes. I always wanted to write. I wrote short stories in grammar school and sold them for a quarter each on the playground. (About the same commission I get now, come to think of it!)
While I’m introverted and shy, I have a bit of an extroverted streak. If I see you in person, I’ll probably grin and hug you. (That tends to scare people, too.) I’m thankful to be here and I can’t wait to share some Wonderful Wednesdays with YOU!

Welcome, Lenora!
I’m Andrea from Texas, and I read the blog when I can. It’s sometimes hard to find the time around my tutoring and copy editing schedules, not to mention family time and God time.
Reading is my favorite hobby, and I’ve been an influencer for several different authors over the last several years. I also write my own novels, though they aren’t yet available for readers. Someday they will be, if God allows.
Great to meet you, and I look forward to getting to know you!
God bless,
Andrea

Hello, Lenora! It’s so nice to meet you and get to know more about you. 🙂 How romantic that you and your love’s first date was in a wading pool. Not many can say that. I’m sure your experiences with hubby (much later in your relationship, of course, hahaha) have inspired a storyline or two. 😉
Blessings!
Lenora says
Hi, Cheryl. You’re right. I have drawn on our own experiences for most of my books. I don’t write about us, but about the emotions and experiences we’ve shared. Writers always put a little bit of themselves in their books, I think. It’s been forty years but sometimes it seems like only yesterday when I told my friend in high school that he was the one I was going to marry. 🙂

Hi and welcome, Lenora!
These are some great ladies you are writing this blog with. I’ve enjoyed it the short time I’ve been subscribed. I’ve read all you Love Inspired books and really enjoyed them so it’ll be great to get to know you here. If you are still getting the same amount for your stories you did way back when, it might be time to talk to someone about a cost of living raise 🙂 although hopefully you sell a few more copies now than you did then! Looking forward to reading more!!!
Lenora says
Hi, June. Thanks for reading my books. I’m blessed to be able to write the stories I love and to help with our income. That commission I quoted hasn’t changed much through the years but I’m not complaining. Love my job 🙂

So excited to have you join us, Lenora! I adore how your love story starts at a wading pool Too cute! Will you be attending ACFW in September? I’d love the chance to chat with you in person. I promise not to be scare off by your hugs. 🙂
Lenora says
Hi, Karen! I won’t be at ACFW for the first time in many years. I’m going to NINC. That person I feel in love with in that wading pool — also my financial advisor suggested I pick one. Since NINC is close by here in Florida, I decided to attend it this year. But … I’d like a rain check on that hug!!!

Welcome, welcome, Lenora! You don’t have to be a little wacky to blog here but it helps.( And being eccentric helps a lot if you’re a writer.) So glad to have you joining us.
Lenora says
Hi, Lynn. That’s a relief. I’m sure my husband is secretly praying that I won’t say something shocking!!! I’m definitely the Wacky Wednesday person :)))

I was born and raised in the Florida panhandle so you’ve picked a good place to settle! Me – I got dragged out west but I miss the beautiful beaches and all the palm trees. 🙂 Looking forward to your future posts!
Lenora says
Sparksofember, this is a lovely place to live. Our daughter lives here, too. Since we grew up in Georgia, we came down here a lot for spring break and other beach trips. I have to say the ocean is a calming, spiritual influence on me. God’s beauty is everywhere here 🙂

p.s. Hate to ask…but what is NINC?
Lenora says
Hi, Patty Jo. Good to see you here. NINC is Novelists, Inc. It’s a conference for published authors and it’s great. I haven’t been in years but it’s close to me since they’ve held it in St. Pete, Florida for a couple of years now. So I thought I’d go this year. I sure will miss ACFW!!!!
