“Inspired by Scripture” coming to a Sunday near you

December 28, 2015 By Deborah Raney

Gardenblogheader copyFor a year and a half now, Inspired by Life…and Fiction has been sharing novelists’ gardens with you each Sunday from my blog, The Plot Thickens. Those lovely garden posts are still there for you to browse any time you like, but alas, we’ve come to the end of our supply of new garden posts. But we’re excited to bring you a new Sunday feature, Inspired by Scripture. Each Sunday, thanks to Ken Raney of ClashEntertainment.com (Ken is my talented hubby!) we’ll be sharing a beautiful photo of God’s creation along with an inspirational verse from the Bible.

Scripture-Header-1

Watch for this header each Sunday morning here on the blog—and in your inbox if you’re subscribed to our posts each day. (You are subscribed, right? If not, please click on the little gold SUBSCRIBE button in our sidebar so you won’t miss a post!)

You may also sign up to receive ClashEntertainment’s beautiful Verse of the Day photos in your inbox each morning, or you may download the Today’s Verse app for your phone.

We hope you’ll enjoy and be blessed by this new feature.

Do you have a favorite Scripture verse or passage, or one you consider your “life verse”?

Deborah Raney

DEBORAH RANEY's first novel, A Vow to Cherish, inspired the World Wide Pictures film of the same title and launched Deb’s writing career. Forty books later, she's still creating stories that touch hearts and lives. Her novels have won RWA's RITA Award, the ACFW Carol Award, the National Readers Choice Award, and the HOLT Medallion. She is also a three-time Christy Award finalist. Deb is on faculty for several national writers’ conferences and served on the executive board of the 2,500-member American Christian Fiction Writers organization for 18 years before retiring in 2022. She is a recent transplant to Missouri, having moved with her husband, Ken Raney, from their native Kansas to be closer to kids and grandkids. They love road trips, e-biking, Friday garage sale dates, and breakfast on the screened porch overlooking their wooded backyard.

Philippians 1:6 is my. Life verse. “I am confident that God will continue the work He started in you until the day Christ Jesus returns.”

That verse reminds me of God’s grace and mercy every time I mess up. ❤️

That’s a good one, Ane! That verse always makes me think of this song: “He… Who… began a good work in you. Will be faithful to complete it…will be faithful to complete it…will be faithful to complete it…” Why is it we remember things so much better when they are set to music? 🙂

    I like Paalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Amen, Shirley! Every day. No matter what it brings, we CAN rejoice in it because it’s His day!

Mine is Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

That’s a great anchor verse, Shelia! And a reminder that apart from Him we can do nothing that matters.

Love the new Sunday header, Deb, and really appreciate you (and Ken) doing this for us. I’m a longtime subscriber to ClashEntertainment’s daily verse, and love the reminders of His Word…and the pictures! Both are beautiful. Psalm 34:18 is a fave.

Thanks so much, Tammy! That’s a great verse, too. Especially when we are brokenhearted! Love you, friend!

Great idea, Deb (and Ken)! We can all benefit from being inspired by Scripture (at least I sure can). 🙂
I have many, many favorite verses, but one in particular is Colossians 3:23:
AND WHATSOEVER YE DO, DO IT HEARTILY, AS TO THE LORD, AND NOT UNTO MEN.
    Hugs, Patti Jo
