Thanks to the ladies of Northside Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN for inviting me to speak this past Saturday morning and for giving me such a warm welcome. What a fabulous group! One of the ladies, Lynn Bolles Drewry, grew up in Fayetteville, TN and went to high school with my sweet dad (Lynn and I figured this out a few months ago when she attended a book signing at the Belmont Mansion).
Lynn brought her 1950s yearbook that my dad had signed. LOL!
Small world indeed…
And if that’s not enough, Lynn is the aunt of Sandy Lundy (waving to you, Sweet Sandy) who was my boss close to 30 years ago when Joe and I were living in Memphis, TN, and I was working at a communications company there. This second connection was discovered when Lynn told her niece (Sandy) about a book she’d read by a Tamera Alexander, and Sandy thought, “Wait a minute…”
Don’t you love how God weaves our lives together? Just imagine what all we’ll learn once we’re looking back on this life from eternity.
What’s the latest thread God has revealed to you as he’s weaving your life with others?
Blessings on your Tuesday,
Tamera

Loved this, Tammy! Yes, it really is a small world, and how special you made that connection with Lynn. 🙂
I’m still pretty sure you and I are somehow related on the Gattis side—-when I discover exactly how, I’ll let you know, LOL. 😉
And I must add – – You always look SO pretty and poised in your photos – – seriously! Never, ever look frazzled or tired (like I feel when I read about your super-busy schedule – – whew!).
Hugs, Patti Jo

You’re so sweet, Cousin Patti Jo (I’m going to start calling you that now since I’m certain we’re somehow related too!). And oh gracious on the ‘pretty and poised.’ You’re very kind! I had such fun that morning. I love talking history and writing and life and God’s goodness. And yet the writing itself is soooo solitary. I love my opportunities to get out. 😉 Much love, friend, and hey… When is our next family reunion?

Gee! May I come to your family reunion too? I’m sure I must be related somewhere! LOL
Seriously Tammy, you were definitely meant to be at Northside that day! How great that you met Lynn and having the added bonus of the link with your Dad in her Year book, not to mention the connection with Sandy too! That must have made your day dear lady:)

I have a question, Tamera Alexander. Why are you ALWAYS so beautiful?! I enjoy your posts and your awesome pictures. Loved visiting the Belmont Mansion and Belle Meade. Love your books!!!

Lorraine, my family visited Belle Meade last summer, and we saw a huge poster of Tamera’s book in the gift shop.

Tamera, as I looked at the yearbook pictures above, it reminded me of how I used to peruse my parents’ yearbooks. The hairdos and the styles had me giggling (and now my daughter does that when she looks through mine).
The latest thread God has revealed to me is the power of prayer in a family. The merging of memories and commitment to each other is life-giving, even as physical health fails.
