  1. Hi Angie! I enjoyed your post, as always. I have to share the latest sad but kinda funny story from our flock. We live on a farm in the northern panhandle of Texas. Our chickens free range and of course that can attract the critters who prey on chickens. Last week, my husband was working in the barn and heard this awful noise coming from the chickens. A coyote had attacked and killed one of our pretty little white chickens.😔
Our grandchildren help take care of the chickens and have named all 31 of them! When we asked which one had died, they told us it was Reba. We were all so sad and then they told us that they named her Reba because she sang when laid her eggs! 😂🐓🥰

    1. Aw, I am so sorry to hear about Reba. It’s funny how we can get attached to the critters in our lives, but they have emotions, too, and the love is often mutual. Thank you for sharing your story! ==Angie

  2. Loved this! We had chickens and turkeys for years. I still miss fresh eggs and dear birds eating grasshoppers so my garden could grow. Sadly we had to move to town as we aged.
