Merry, blessed Christmas to you all!

December 22, 2025 By Deborah Raney

By the time you read this, my husband and I will be gathered with all our kids and grandkids for an early Christmas together at our oldest daughter’s home in Missouri. All 24 of these precious people under one roof for several days! Definitely my happy place! This photo is from last year, so everyone is a year older and wiser (and that tiny baby is walking now!)

We’ve finally outgrown being able to all sleep under one roof, but every morning from about 6:30 when the little ones wake up wanting Papa’s hot chocolate, until late at night when the last board game is won or lost, we’re all together cooking, eating, playing games, putting puzzles together, decorating gingerbread houses, and just enjoying being together for a few wonderful days.

And here we are this year, so grateful to all be together again to celebrate another incredible family Christmas!

I hope you and those you love also have a wonderful Christmas together, and I pray that God will bless you greatly throughout the holidays, that He will grant you safe travels if you’ll be on the road or in the sky, and that Jesus, the Reason for this wonderful season, will be in your hearts through Christmas and into a brand new year!

DEBORAH RANEY's first novel, A Vow to Cherish, inspired the World Wide Pictures film of the same title and launched Deb’s writing career. Forty books later, she's still creating stories that touch hearts and lives. Her novels have won RWA's RITA Award, the ACFW Carol Award, the National Readers Choice Award, and the HOLT Medallion. She is also a four-time Christy Award finalist. Deb is on faculty for several national writers’ conferences and served on the executive board of the 2,500-member American Christian Fiction Writers organization for 18 years before retiring in 2022. She is a recent transplant to Missouri, having moved with her husband, Ken Raney, from their native Kansas to be closer to kids and grandkids. They love road trips, e-biking, Friday garage sale dates, and breakfast on the screened porch overlooking their wooded backyard.
