I love book covers! I never tire of admiring the skill and artistry of the graphic designers who create them.
At the start of every new year, it’s become my habit to look back at the Christian fiction covers of the year before. Here are some of my favorites from 2020. In my opinion, each of these covers do a fantastic job of fulfilling their purpose. 1) They grab my attention with a gorgeous blend of image, title, and fonts. 2) They communicate the novel’s genre, tone, and subject matter.

Which 2020 covers did you love?

Someone Like You by Karen Kingsbury 😊💛
Thanks for mentioning that one! It’s fun to check out other people’s favorites!
The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus, the colors and circus graphics were a wonderful draw to read it to me.
I’m enamored with that one! It’s so creative and different.
Yes, yes, YYYEEESSS for the covers of Beach Haven, She Walks in Majesty and Love and A Little White Lie! Not only were the covers stunning, but the stories were wonderful as well.
Others I liked were:
*Brand of Light – Ronie Kendig
*The Love Note – Joanna Davidson Politano
*The Crushing Depths – Dani Pettrey
Amy, I love the ones you mentioned!
Great choices, Becky! And such a wonderful variety. Cover artists are amazingly creative.
Truly! I enjoy featuring a variety of genres because it displays the range of skill the designers employ in order to be true to each story.
You mentioned most of my favorites this year! I also love the whimsy of Lindsay Harrel’s Like a Christmas Dream.
I know there’s such a thing as stock photos, and some photos get used for more than one book, but it made me kind of sad to see Rachel Hauck’s on another book. ☹️ That dress was gorgeous!
That dress was gorgeous — I agree! Like you, I adore Lindsay’s Like a Christmas Dream. I’m a fan of that style of illustrated cover.
Thank you for including my book! Wow.. I love the other covers too! Great selection!
You’re welcome! Your book cover is fantastic. Such a striking and dramatic image!
The blue dress in To Love A Prince just grabs my eye and would make me pick up the book in a bookstore to read the back cover blurb (which I did, albeit online not a store, and it just arrived in the mail this week). The Haunting at Bonaventure Circus cover just fits the story so well. It is the first book by Jaime Jo Wright I have read.
My favorite cover from 2020 was the jaw dropping cover for Dawn of Vengeance by Ronie Kendig. Jaw dropping just defines it well for me. I liked it just seeing the picture online but when I actually held the book? Jaw dropping. The eyes of Marco (lead character) and his scowl along with the bursts of yellow/orange on the cover. Just gorgeous.
Ronie has fantastic covers – both for her speculative fiction and her suspense!
Of interest, “The Gilded Lady” is part of a family portrait in the “Hope and Glory” series by Elizabeth Camden. The final novel “Prince of Spies” (releasing next month) completes the picture.
Yes! It’s amazing how they did that. It reminds me of the three covers of Teri Blackstock’s If I Run books, that also formed one complete photo when places side by side. 🙂
I did not know that, but I love these covers…and the stories.
I love the To Love a Prince cover. Just such a gorgeous dress. I Love the color scheme and everything. Definitely my favorite of this list.
🙂
I asked readers on FB and Instagram what their favorite covers of the year were and that cover was mentioned more than any other. 🙂
